  1. Possibly the most random post I've ever read. He's a massive San Lorenzo fan. Aye it wouldn't surprise me at all if he is funding them in some way. http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/interesting.gif
  2. "@Indykaila Newcastle officials held two hour meeting with Alan Pardew tonight, more meetings are planned tomorrow. That all information I have right now." This guy tends to get things right.
  3. Pardew stays, we're relegated. Simple as.
  4. It depends what you support at the end of the day. A football team or a business. It boils my piss every day when I receive "top offers" from the club for the world's shittest hoodies. Everything about the club at the moment seems to be about profit, and that's not what football's ever been about at its core.
  5. So the club saved how much on Debuchy in the six months? £1m? How many league places will that cost us over the course of a season? Impossible to predict. But let's say 1. Isn't that at least £3m in reward money? The club have made an enormous mistake in failing to invest. In this case, it simply is penny-pinching and gambling, when in actuality the costs of signing the players would probably have been completely negated by improved league position.

  7. I think what worries me are Keegan's words a few years back after Pardew became manager. He talked about deliberate bidding that would come up short, so that it appeared to everyone as though a serious attempt had been made to sign players. I think we've learned by now that Ashley is about profits and margins. I'm not sure how they got him to agree to Cisse, but we've barely spent that again in the 12 months since. Ashley's had numerous opportunities to really push on since last January, and yet continues to fall short, failing to get players over the line. How much of it is this "rigid wage and transfer structure", and how much is just propaganda from the club to ensure we keep buying tickets?
  8. Our transfer policy has been leaked in its entirety. http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/a-little-short.gif
  9. We have usually had to sell to buy under Ashley, that won't change. I've seen no evidence to suggest that we won't just keep pursuing our targets and buying them if we can, while selling if we think it's worth it http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/oh-please.gif

    Loïc Remy

I'm glad we spend two years scouting players to lose them in the last half hour. Pathetic from the club.
  12. Think that that's perhaps overly cynical. A face or two in, and I don't see why we can't grab an away win at Villa, a home win against Stoke and home win against Fulham/Mackems, as well as a draw against WHU away. Not 'easy', but that results table really would be a worst case scenario.
  13. No coincidence that with him and Santon on the left, we kept a clean sheet and Santon looked better. Unfortunately, he doesn't offer enough. What he offers is often easy to miss, with strong workrate and willingness to receive the ball. But his attacking play is diabolical, and has been since Enrique left. We're carrying him at the moment, but we're definitely weaker without him as there's no alternatives that offer the positives he does.
  14. Voted 5 last time. Now gone for an 8. Please note that that's as things stand, with Debuchy in for Ba. I just can't see our form improving dramatically given our injury luck this season and lack of signings. Two more quality players in, none out, and we'll be fine.
  15. Almost as biased as the Sky team.
  16. Be really sad to see him go, won't lie. Been a great striker for us.
  17. It's nice to see that most people here are pretty agreed on what needs to change, and it seems like that opinion carries through to the wider fan base judging by comments through United For Newcastle's Facebook page. Certainly an attitude shift from the summer, when far more of the general fan base (not so much this forum) were willing to 'wait and see' how it panned out.
  18. If investment doesn't materialise, what can be done? Watch MA get the club relegated again?
  19. It's clear what we need. Everyone except MA can see what we need. The concern is that what happens if/when what we need isn't fulfilled? Do I honestly believe we'll patch the holes in our squad based on our track record? No I don't.
