  1. No issues at all with keeping him on for a very specific role - coming on as sub when winning to relieve pressure in central midfield by hassling and harrying and winning freekicks. In-game management and nowt else. May be useful cover for freak injury/suspension situations, but I don't think overall his wages would justify it. Needs to be under an actual football manager though.

Having said that, in terms of how we treated him during his ordeal, I wouldn't begrudge him a 2 year contract extension from a "human" point of view.

I would absolutely LOVE for him to somehow score before the end of the season. I would genuinely celebrate my ass off like we've won something. What a big f*** YOU that would be to a horrible disease.

    :indi: :indi: :indi:

  2. It was so obvious Pérez was getting dropped from this game after all those comments last week.

And Abeid is getting sold? So infuriating.

Where's this from? Something I missed?

    douglas tweeted it afaik

Absolutely pathetic club. Buy young talent, waste them in the reserves when they show promise, loan them out where they do well, start then in the cup when they then go on to make a series of extremely promising appearances in a winning streak, get injured, make on mistake, sell.

I hope they ALL lose their jobs and get on the dole because this is incompetence of the highest level.

  3. Obviously they had to make a radically different kit to boost sales since everybody and their dogs already have a classic striped one.

I haven't bought a Barça kit since they put Qatar on the shirt anyway.

    Good. Hope you never do/will.

  4. Just thought id break ranks to say that, contrary to the pictures in promo it looks quite decent in the flesh imo

(Obviuosley not the wonga/price/ ashley profits etc)

I tried one on & it felt like dirty porn

What's the badge like? Sewn on? or cheap iron jobby?

  5. I absolutely refuse to believe it.

Why? The Brazil national team is the most whored around football team anywhere in the world since Havelange's first involvement in football. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it were true.

  6. If Sterling signs for Man City he's be their 3rd best attacking player after Aguero and Silva. He's not doing a Scott Sinclair ffs

He'll be at West Ham/West Brom/Swansea within two years. He's not that good. He's scored 7 league goals this season. Jack Colback's got 4 ffs.

    tad hyperbolic

It is, but so is touting Raheem Sterling to start and play regularly for the likes of Real Madrid or Bayern Munich. He really isn't that good. I'm saying it again because i'm just baffled. He isn't that good!

  7. I could understand Sterling wanting to leave if he was carrying Liverpool and had been their best player on a consistent basis. But he hasn't.

He is Charles N'Zogbia, thinking he's a world beater and offering himself to Arsenal and ending up at Villa.

Sadly, Sterling is just a wife beater. Can't wait for him to end up at West Ham in 2020 savaging his career.

    This.

  8. A lot of people have a huge chip on their shoulder about Colback for one reason or another.

Over the course of the season, he's probably justified his starting position.

Where has Sissoko been all season? Why is Raylor even getting on the coach?

Tiote has been a complete liability for the past two seasons.

As was said previously, Colback is usually tidy on the ball. No he isn't going to storm the Premier League, but he's not been anywhere near as bad as people make out.

Have no problem with Colback starting if we had an actual game plan that he fit into. My problem is that we have absolutely nothing, and our coaching staff probably hold him in reverence thinking he's England's future captain. It's the perception of him by the club that is worrying, rather than his actual output. If they think he's the dog's bollocks (he isn't), and don't plan on buying a quality midfielder to properly replace Cabaye, then people are rightly going to have a chip on their shoulder when it comes to him.

  9. And Liverpool today are far more ambitious and competitive than that Everton team ever was.

Funnily enough, a comparable talent in Ross Barkley signed a new contract with Everton just this season. Despite being linked with all these top clubs also.

Barkley has less goals and assists than Colback this season

Sterling has one goal more than Charlie Adam.

  10. And Liverpool today are far more ambitious and competitive than that Everton team ever was.

Yup. And if iirc Everton were skint at the time, and needed that cash to rebuild the side for Moyes? Totally different types of talents, totally different scenarios. I despise LFC in general, but I'm with them on this one.

  11. Bale has spent 3-4 seasons as a real first teamer at Spurs before he left, was he a greedy b****** because he upped his wages when he moved? Surely he should've stayed to help Spurs get back in the CL and challenge for trophies.

Bale is about 10 times the player Sterling is though. Bale stayed at a club that nurtured him, gave him games, then sold him for an eye-watering sum to arguably the biggest club in world football. Sterling is nowhere near that level, yet. And IMO I doubt he'll ever be with that attitude.

  12. Sterling is a good player and an extremely promising talent. Having said that, I think he's overrated, by himself and the media. The only people who don;'t think he's as good as is being made out are Liverpool fans themselves. They see the obvious, which is that he still needs to learn and improve the numerous gaps in his game. He is nowhere near the player Bale is, so talk of him moving to Real Madrid is a fucking joke tbh.

His head's obviously been turned. He'll end up at Arsenal as Walcott's replacement, or playing a bit-part role at Chelsea or Man City.

Acting the twat for no good reason IMO, and Liverpool have every right to twist his arm and only sell him on their own terms, even if they have to spite him.

  13. "Ryan Taylor over the wall" the fans once sang because he fluked a free-kick goal against the mackems, and injured himself badly soon after. The players wore tops with his name on to wish him well. In Carver's mind, he's probably doing US a favour by playing the fans' favourite in any old position just to get him on the pitch.

  14. Why the fuck are people still fixated on this cunt? He's someone else's manager now. Been arguing for the past 2 hours with some dim witted twat trotting out the "hope the pardew out brigade are happy now. responsible for this mess".
