  1. Could also be in combination with archaic training methods, too much or too little weights, too much or too little rest, plus the weather, etc.. It's never just one thing.

look at them ffs  the first guy is getting his michelin man on. So ancient.

They all look like lovely decent innocent chaps tbf

  3. Anyone that voted for a world cup to take place in a desert in 40+ heat has clearly taken a few bags of gold and a few hundred camels thrown in for good measure.  Insane decision (not that I have anything against the middle east)

This! I don't begrudge a massive country like Russia the chance to host a world cup (obviously if they're found guilty of wrong-doing then by all means string them up). But Qatar? For fuck's sake. About as anti-football as you can get a host nation.

  4. Will enjoy watching Jack Warner and Septic Bladder being hauled over the coals should it ever happen

    Issa Hayatou as well hopefully.

Someone from within FIFA commented that it was a "sad day for football". Erm, no it isn't. It's a sad day for corrupt and gluttonous wankers. It's a wonderful day for football.

  5. IMO Gerard finally leaving will bring a sense of relief to the footballing side. He's been a passenger most of the season. His outstanding quality of years gone by had drained away as he got older, and it's been like playing with 10 men at times for them in midfield.

Their defence is utter wank as well, with both Skrtel and Lovren so overrated, and clearly not able to form any kind of partnership. The marginalization of Sakho was also a bit baffling. They need to ship Skrtel out, sign a better center half, and move Emre Can forward to take the place of their outgoing captain.

Dross like Lucas, Borini, Alberto, Allen, and the enigma that is Balotelli need to be moved on. They might also need a real goalkeeper. Mignolet/Jones is a woefully mediocre pairing for a club with CL aspirations.

That's just the opinion of an outsider, and personally I hope they keep going in the same direction, crash and burn.

  6. I spoke to a few people at Swansea about a year ago regarding Laudrup. No one had good word to say about him. Had decent ideas about the game but was very slack, hardly at training and most felt the senior players held things together. Might just be some didnt like him but they said he was total w***** basically.

Basically another pardew without the good football.

  7. The fat b******s interview yesterday was no more than Crocodile tears and some will be taken in.  Things might improve next season but most know that things will only change for the better short term as they'll repeat what they've already done, more than once.

Trying to be objective on this, it depends on who it was that came up with the idea of him doing an interview. If it was his own idea, then maybe there is a will in his own head that something needs to be done. If it was totally a KB exercise, which I personally reckon it was, then we're in for even bigger disasters as this club descends further into an abyss of spin doctoring and lies. Either way, it's a pivotal close-season. If he changes, and permanently, then that's good for the club. If not, the pressure groups such as AO and MAOC have now seen that they do have a massive impact and will make his life a living hell.

  8. Been saying it since we got the lad and had a first look at him. It could have been an additional dimension to our game in terms of attacking fret to use him to arrive late in the box and cause havoc, with crosses being put in from wide positions. A route 1 manager like al pards' wet dream. How he never clocked on to this, and instead stuck him out on the wing, thus nullifying his impact, is beyond me.

  9. I watch the matches on the official PL streaming service, and they include pre and post match interviews, and obviously no ad breaks. Carver did his first interview after the match (MoTD iirc) where he got emotional talking about the fans that had passed away saying they were looking down on us today etc... He nearly teared up and went red faced when he brought it up toward the end of the interview. At the end, the interviewer thanked him, and he (Carver) turned and shouted: "how was that Wendy?", and Wendy answers: "perfect John. very emotional".

He did several interviews after that, after every single one, turned and asked Wendy how he had done. Seems he's being "worked on" to improve his interview skills by the club. Hopefully it was just for this interim period and nothing further.

It doesn't really mean anything, the club are obviously painfully aware that he is a complete embarrassment in front of the camera so no surprise they are trying to limit the damage by giving him some coaching for interviews. He should be gone by the end of the week but with us you just know they will drag it out all summer.

Yup. Hoping that's all there is to it.

  10. He also claimed that he's now definitely going to try to win something, does that mean he wasn't trying to win something in the past?

Pretty obvious that he wasn't. The interview confirmed it. They've also confirmed that cups and Europa were not a priority, and always had good old al pards tell us we cant compete with sovereign states for the top spots (CL). The interview is meant to sound like we're entering a new epoch where we have now reached some magical financial milestone, and can finally become competitive. How I wish that to be true, to be involved in matches where the result mattered again. Not holding my breath as this fucking turd has had 8 years of priors.

One thing he has done now is given us even more stick to beat him with having done that interview. It's one thing to release a statement on the club's website that only NUFC fans will know about, and it's another giving a live interview to Sky from the stadium (where i'm assuming he'll also have made an appearance in the dressing room before the game).

    #wait

  11. I had to laugh when he mentioned "the football board".

Anyone who isn't a total retard knows that there's only one man on this board, and it's Mike Ashley. I think even the press have figured it out.

No doubt he has a veto but I do think he relies on Charnley et al on football issues. I read the TV interview as saying that Charnley is going to survive and get a chance to bring in his own man. I think there was an admission that the squad is too small and lacking in sufficient quality. Also a move to compete in the cups. What was also significant was that Ashley /Bishop arranged the interview independently of NUFC. He's looking after his personal reputation and distancing himself from the Carver decision. I thought the interview was a positive thing yesterday, not so much for the content, but that he felt the need to give it. As many have said we'll all know more once a coaching team is assembled.

The TV interview was a case of 'I'm unpopular but it's not my fault so please leave me alone.'

He did say when asked that the blame lay at his door.

  13. never trust a man that cannot maintain eye contact alot of that interview he spent looking off to the far right or up in the air while I appreciate he isnt a public speaker this just reminded me of a televised version of that Charnley did with the chronicle spoon fed rhetoric from someone who has shown nothing but the exact opposite of what has being peddled.

I'm not wanting to back Ashley here at all because I believe he's all smoke and mirrors, however what you have said is bullshit. Looking someone in the eye is often a major sign of lying. Looking up (either to the left or right depending on which hand you right with) is a signal of either recalling information or fabricating information.

    :ben:

  14. First time this f***er attacks a header in the penalty box. You'd think someone of his size and brute strength would be coached into arriving late in the box and powering headers on target.

    Well taken goal. Poor otherwise.

  15. His presence and interview had KB all over it and was a cold and calculated thing knowing he was never going to face any flack during the game because fans wanted to be united behind the team and afterwards he can basically leave the stands which he did. Where was he against Spurs? He is a coward, a gutless ambition less man who has no place at this club even if he hires a competent manager and we spend a few quid in the summer. His time has come, his whole tenure needs to end, every last trace of him and his tacky shop needs rinsed out of the club full stop so we can start afresh.

I could have sworn Bishop kissed his hand in celebration after Sissoko scored.

  16. The thing is he was here today.  If he doesn't get want it means after watching us f*** him.  I'll give him a chance to back his words pre match.

He has had plenty of chances

Being the owner, he's in a unique position where he can have as many chances as he likes. The interview was clearly a PR plug, and the chances of him actually running the club properly are minimal to null. Fair play to the cunt if he somehow changes that though. Personally (apart from Jonas scoring) I hated the fact that we won, and the bellend got off relatively scot-free.

  17. What's not to understand?

Wishing death on an ex-manager for talking about us on tv?

He's a f***ing horrible c*** who ruined NUFC and is now blaming fans for our current predicament. I hope his life finishes in a ball of fire, tonight.

I totally agree that he's a loathsome prick, and we have still not recovered from the shambles he left us in. But howay man, wishing a horrible death on someone?
