  1. It's already been said, but needs to be said time and time again, Ayoze is a very special talent. Some of his improvisations on the ball and use of his balance is off the charts. A little bit different to HBA in terms of style of play, but IMO he's up there with him in the "real baller" stakes.

The only highlight of our miserable season.

  2. Getting promotion won't be easy at all, the squad we would start with would be absolute dross. And the manager would probably be Carver.

Yup. We were lucky to have Hughton and the key players that dragged us up last time, hard to see who would step up now.

totally, not a chance this set up, staff and players would stand a chance of bouncing straight back up unless we spent 50 million or something

Under Ashley yes. But maybe new owners can rejuvenate the whole place and re-work the club's structure to move us forward, without spending astronomical amounts. And even if they do, the sheer size of our club makes it a sound investment. It's so fucking easy for Ashley to do it but he's too stupid/tight to do it.

  3. It's not beyond the realm of possibility that we're more likely to find buyers for the club if we drop down a division. The investment to gain promotion would be slightly less than that to keep us up. Also as new owners, maybe starting out in the championship, away from the spotlight of the PL, might be better if they intend to fix the problems Ashley has left us with. It would be easier to assemble a young and hungry squad, and install a forward thinking, young and hungry manager to take us back up. Not too dissimilar to the methodology applied by SJH.

  4. Has he said this to take the "heat" off the players, a la Pearson and his sheep rant last week, so it will free the 'pressure' on the players so the can unleash barca style tomorrow afternoon?

Has he said this to try and convince himself?.... positive mental attitude and all that pish.  If I keep telling myself something often enough I'll end up believing it even though it's pure bollocks.

This man is a f***ing amatuer.  How long has he been in the game?  Worked with, and you would have thought learned from, the great Sir Bobby and this is the s**** he comes out with?!

He should be coming out bigging up our players (and I don't just mean the 'purple' ones) and making them feel 10 feet tall than trying to big up himself.

Basically he's saying he his pure football genius so following that logic, if he is the geordie pep and we've lost so many games it must be the players that are pure dogshit.  Wahey!  Great motivational words from the main man just before a crucial match.

He's been leaving the players hung out to dry for weeks now, dodging blame as much as he can. The only motivation he's great at is making people in this forum want to punch his face.

Let's give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he's a coach wanting to make the transition into management. There's a reason why most managers start at lower levels away from the spotlight, and that is to learn the ropes, especially when it comes to dealing with the image they portray themselves and their team in. Chris Hughton was a very experienced coach, but had hardly any experience managing a big club. He knew this all too well, and was always slightly withdrawn and soft-spoken, and never really made a fool of himself or the club in an amateurish way.

If Carver actually had any intelligence, he would have done the same. He wouldn't have been banging on about the Geordie/SBR/Speed/Passion thing to everyone who would listen. He lacks the intelligence and understanding of what the big job entails, but if he thinks he can do it, he's more than welcome to fuck off and learn the ropes somewhere else.

  5. The media love to portray us fanatical emotional maniacs who can't think in objective terms. But they wanted a Geordie? He has passion? Passion is the least of any of the qualities I'd like to see and Carver has none of the others. We don't give a f*** he's a fan.

He doesn't even really have "passion" does he? He's just an aggressive bully IYAM. His one and only act of "passion" as assistant manager was probably when he went straight to McManaman after that tackle on Haidara at HT. Having a go at the enemy in adversity so to speak.

Otherwise, this "passion" he supposedly has, he's only displayed it by having a go at the club's own fans and players.

  6. Ouch. Harsh on him. Must be so exasperating being injured all the time. Pretty sure this won't be the end of it as well. Would've liked him a lot more if it weren't for that cringeworthy dance.

    As for his club, HAHAHAHAHA.

  7. Colin Murray about to talk about the letter, sadly as Hamann is there it will be half fan bashing than a proper discussion

Beedy eyed german needs to be hushed.

'Williamson is a very good defender'

Aye until he makes a comment about some error he's committed when doing live punditry. Fucking hell these imbeciles.

If Williamson's so good, maybe Hammann should recommend him to his beloved Liverpool.

  8. Colin Murray about to talk about the letter, sadly as Hamann is there it will be half fan bashing than a proper discussion

Beedy eyed german needs to be hushed.

Murray's been good so far in terms of having his finger on the fans' pulse. Hopefully he puts him in his place.

  9. Not wanting to stick up for them with this latest hamfisted attempt at PR.

But I've been tossing this around in my mind, should we be getting behind the team (a team that's done nothing to reciprocate the gesture and anything to warrant any level of support) in the hope of saving our PL status or let the f***ers wallow in the s*** they've caused, continue the protest and hope that this inevitable relegation is the catalyst for change.

I’ve come to the conclusion that we need to stay up. Not for Ashley, Carver or the fleckless players but for ourselves. Going down means the following: The best players will be sold, the worst players are given a lifeline. Carver’s odds at staying in charge go up, with the Hughton effect, Ryder is promoting. Zero investment in the team will take place (Despite what we think, if we stay in the PL they will spend probably not enough but they will spend). No attractive managerial appointment will be made(although this is probable for both scenarios). No chance of me personally seeing a lot of our games next year (although that may be a blessing in disguise). No likely buyer will offer Ashley what he wants for the club. We could be down for a long time this time, as long as perhaps Leeds have been, we are not set up for a quick bounce back like last time.

Of course I can also understand the advantages in continuing the protests for this game: Why back a team that doesn’t deserve, why save an owner 80 million that won’t reinvest it. Carver might be seen as the hero for saving us, ergo getting the gig next year.

The worst case scenario and what will probably happen is that people will sit on their hands for 89 mins apart from in the 17th minute per usual. The place will be like a library apart from the vocal noise of the small band of Brom supporters celebrating their 3 goals. The 34th minute will see a handful of supporters stand up with their red Ashley out cards (which will be promptly confiscated).

    All I'd say is:

    1. Historically, 'getting behind' this bunch of arseholes has been about as effective as using cod liver oil to cure cancer.

    2. Even if we stay up, all that truly represents is vindication of the Ashley model and it'll be the same next season and beyond until we finally go down.

    Crux. Of it all.
