  1. People say he can't deal with the physical players as well, so what's Benteke if he isn't physical and isn't pacey? I'd have him over Long any day of the week. Jelavic and Long are in good form, posing a good partnership threat since their arrival and it should be a good battle. Colo and Williamson will have to be on their game but I'm not fearing their two strikers, we pose just as much threat with Remy, if not more of a threat.

Their forwards are in good form, but it's their central midfield I worry about. Livermore and Huddlestone are bossing it at the moment, and we really should be playing with 3 in the middle to get the best out of Anita, and have a go at their 3 at the back.

  2. Ashley is a prime-cut arsehole, Pardew is a fraudster who shoots himself (and us) in the foot with every word of bollocks he spouts, and I hate the way our club is being run, and I am very worried about what our future holds should the status quo continue.

Now that the above is out of the way...

Fuck me, the 90 minutes on a Saturday are all about Newcastle United having a bigger scoreline than the opposition. There was nothing bittersweet about that last minute winner on the day. Celebrate visibly like a bellend or not, no one can say they didn't at least let out a "GET THE FUCKKKK INNNNN" when Remy turned and smashed it home. All the worries and hatred towards the current NUFC hierarchy disappears, momentarily, as we are conditioned to just...feel good...when we win.

Pardew has had similar bad runs in the past that would have more than justified him getting the sack. That home defeat to Reading still sticks in my throat personally, and IMO any owner at any other half decently run club would have sacked the manager after that shambles (add to that the back to back home defeats to the mackems and Liverpool etc..). Losing at home to Villa when our season has been written off wasn't getting him sacked. I can't understand why people let that interfere with their ability to enjoy a last minute winner, or any kind of win against any opposition on the day. We have the entire week in between matches to analyze and go back to our grumbling against what's being done to us. But on the day, pump your first, wave the proverbial flag, shag the cat etc...

I miss the simpler days when James Alexander Gordon would read out the scores at 5pm, and if I haven't seen the match, I'd almost shit myself looking for any evidence that we had won depending on the intonation of his voice reading out "Newcastle United ONNNE - Aston Villa nil".

  3. The pressure from keeping a distance between 4th and 5th in comparison to winning a league title is massively different.  We've seen Arsenal choke themselves out of a title or two while always finishing strongly when needed to finish 4th.

Think they'll have to win 9 out of their remaining 11 fixtures to win the league and I don't see that.

I agree in that their "mettle" hasn't been tested yet with this side as far as mounting a proper title challenge is concerned. Their match at Old Trafford will be a huge test for them. Win that, and they're firmly in with a realistic chance of winning the whole thing.

  4. I genuinely think they'll win it. They'll beat City and Chelsea at Anfield I think. Suarez will start scoring again soon too. They look the real deal, used to think Rodgers was a fraudster at Swansea due to Sousa, Martinez etc before him, but he really is a cracking manager. Their defence is questionable like but if he sorts it out and doesn't win it this year they definitely will be challenging next year.

Not good enough away from home and they are still playing without real pressure.

I disagree. They needed to get a result against Arsenal to shave points off their rivals. They obliterated them. They had to come back from behind to beat Fulham and they did. They took a comfortable lead against Swansea, let them back in the game, made it more difficult for themselves, and still managed to win.

The media have been asking "can Liverpool win the title" since they lead at the top after a few games, and it has gathered pace since they beat Arsenal. IMO they have what it takes if they can continue to score the goals (they are the league's top scorers iirc). As much as I hate them, I would like to see them win it ahead of the other 3 suspects, simply because it would be good to have a competitive league again.

  5. Easy to forget that he's still relatively young. Getting dicked about being played in 3 or 4 different positions since he's been here doesn't help matters. I also think HE has no idea what his best position is. It's something in his mindset that needs tweaking. His concentration seems to be shot at the moment.

  6. I think Brett's just arguing that a late winner is a reason to celebrate in itself, regardless of the wider context. He must have some sort of point, otherwise all fans of mid or lower table sides would basically stop bothering.

Again, this is ignoring the main point. No one is saying that being 8th is bad. Being 12th would be ok if there was an understanding that we are improving. Look at Hughton's time here, or Keegan's second spell when our main concern was to avoid relegation. In both cases there was genuine hope for the future. Now we know that this season is finished and we have no intention of chasing a UEFA place.

I guess in a way this is how Bayern/Barcelona/etc fans feel after they've won everything time and again.

    We're Barcelona :cheesy:

  7. Dinamo Kviv - Valencia has been relocated to Cyprus because of the trouble in Ukraine.

Went to this today. Jonas is an absolute tireless runner. Keita bossed the midfield. Feghouli and Vargas completely changed the game coming on as subs, and both scored. Kiev had some handy players on show. Brown Ideye and Jermaine Lens were both quite good up front. Veloso still has class about him. Belhanda was absolutely useless though. Rybka, the sub Kiev keeper, made 4 or 5 world class saves in the space of 10 minutes before Valencia pressure finally told.

    Nice evening out.

  8. His reactiveness is the disease that's plaguing the club footballing wise. If this was a one off result, you'd applaud that he's trying to do something to shake it up. But it isn't. He is completely out of his depth.

  9. Can this cunt stop touching himself in every fucking interview? Disingenuous, condescending, insincere and pretentious fucking prick. I cannot wait until the day he fucks off out of this club one way or another.

Is it possible or OK to hate this guy more than I hate Ashley?

  10. the squad is woefully short in key area's without Cabaye theres 0 creativity in the centre of midfield, minus Remy we have 0 goal threat up front either with only Shola and a half fit De Jong to work with.

Yup. Palace have a better squad than we do.

  11. The huge difference is SBR had out best interests at heart, was a good manager, didn't actively denigrate the club, the fans, praise the owner, wasn't hired purely as a front man. It's in no way similar

I'm just bored of every utterance being criticised no matter what.

No matter how happy or forlorn he is.

No matter how honest or deceiving.

No matter how factual or misleading.

You've got to get over this mate, it's how it is. Everyone hates everything about the regime too much for it to ever change.

I think thats a bit unfair Ian.

When he took over and all the talk was of 'root and branch reviews', of 'new ways ahead' of 'sensible investment and quality improvement' a lot of us, me included were dancing jigs of joy.

I have no and had no blinkered view of FS.

But when you have been lied to, time and time again, when all actions speak of someone who has utter contempt for you, the club you love, your fellow supporters and the city and area in general...surely enough is enough at some point?

Do I hate everything about this regime now? too f***ing right.

From its crony, fake manager, to its inept and utterly ridiculous DOf and obviously to the cheap, tacky, slimeball hierarchy we have infesting us.

That is not borne out of desperatley wanting to despise the regime, its a consquence of their actions and lies.

He's also had more chances than he's deserved to redeem himself imo....they all have.

I find it staggering that anyone can put any store or have any faith in anything they say now...they are completely barren, rotten, slimy, bankrupt of morals and utterly corrupt.

Bit late to the party but

George Bailey ladies and gentlemen

    Sums it up exactly.

  12. Could be the antidote to Cisse's horrendous form. Whether or not he can play in a two man frontline i don't know but he looks to have a bit of movement about him that could create more space for a pure finisher like Cisse.

Why do i keep hearing this nonsense? Are you suggesting dropping Remy?

It's not about dropping Remy. He's our top scorer. But what's wrong with having different options or approaches to certain games? It's also more likely that Remy will not make his move permanent, so why not try and see if the other two can work together?

  13. Could be the antidote to Cisse's horrendous form. Whether or not he can play in a two man frontline i don't know but he looks to have a bit of movement about him that could create more space for a pure finisher like Cisse.
