  1. Fucking hell reading that interview from January about "being hardened" and all that guff - what a fraud. How people even think of him as some sort of PR wizard is beyond me. All you'd have to do is listen to him talk before you realize that he's a charlatan. I have no doubt that he's a genuinely nice guy, and no doubt that he gives his absolute best - which is why the players like him. The truth is though that he's just not good enough for a club in the top division. "hardened" my fucking ass. GTFO
  2. Yep... one of the worst decisions all season. f***ing armatures. Sickening. No two ways about it. We would have won and papered over more cracks. But on this occasion I wouldn't have fucking minded that at all.
  3. How is he not bothered? Wasn't he the one who wanted to produce local talent to avoid spending on extortionate transfer fees? I think he's very much bothered, or he wouldn't have gone to the lengths he has upgrading training facilities and the academy. Huh? I mean bothered about what we actually achieve year on year. As long as we're in the Premier League I imagine it's pretty much job done. If we could develop more of our own talent (read: spend less money) then all the better. Yes, and this also has knock on effects. It would generate excitement amongst the local talent who will believe again that they have a chance to succeed at their own club rather than look elsewhere for a chance. It would also build some trust and bridge the gap between the ownership and fan base. I think he has much more to gain by making sure this blueprint starts to bear fruit sooner than later.

  5. Couldn't give a s*** if he makes us effective and wins us games/trophies. Pardew isn't hated because of style of football he's hated because that style of football that isn't conclusive to results and can't seem to fix what is wrong. Yes Benitez teams are not exactly exciting to watch but at least he gets results and can fix fundamental flaws in a football team. Exactly! Winning is exciting and entertaining to me
  6. The painful thing is that we're not that far behind ushering in an era of stability and relative success. We have an excellent scouting network, a very good youth setup by all accounts, an incredible training facility and a world class stadium. The club is also well on its way to re-establishing reasonable commercial success. All we need is a strong and knowledgable personality in charge who will use his credibility to assert influence in all footballing aspects at the club, and take us forward. The world of football will see changes in the next few years with FFP, and we're pretty much ready for that. We just need a leader. Rest in peace Sir Bob.
  7. We will not get entertainment immediately. Our entertainment will be getting the results against teams we "should" be beating, and possibly a couple of surprise results here and there. We need to set a good foundation up and down the club. When Hughton was in charge, I was under the impression that we'd taken care of our infrastructure/medical/youth tiers, and were well run again. This season and to an extent last season has made me doubt that. Benitez would sort it out.
  8. True. Which is why the character of the person who will take us forward is extremely important. Benitez imo has a reasonable combination of character to go along with his vast footballing knowledge and experience. Not ideal, but certainly a step in the right direction. Still, I'd much rather someone slightly younger, with a distinct philosophy on how the game is best played. I don't want a manager who is too rigid in his ideals though (a la Rodgers). Just someone passionate who is forever willing to learn and improve, and who transmits that to his players. I don;t know why, but Poyet just might fit the above description?
  9. My issue is that he was moved into a position to get him into the team. Imo, the only position at which Jonas offers any value anymore is central midfield. He's fairly decent in a midfield 3. It's no longer an opinion man. It;s become a fact. Given that the mackems had no great shakes in cm, Jonas should have started alongside Cabaye and Marveaux in a 3. We can all see Jonas can't play anywhere else except the manager. Also a bit that way with Obertan and his couple of excellent cameos at LW. Never to be seen there again.
  10. No. Dear lord no! Rather have Pardew than either of these wasters
  11. He wants to make sure that the result "hurts the players". I don't think they need him to be hurt by it. The older guard will have known all about the importance of this game, and will have left the newbies under no illusion as to what it means to us. What PRdew needs to do is sit through re-run after re-run of the match with the entire first team squad, and go through every single point/incident/tackle/50-50 that gave them an edge. He should f***ing batter Tiote and Cabaye for constantly playing anywhere BUT center midfield. I understand it's not a static game, but f*** me the amount of free space in the center circle was laughable! Gutierrez should be battered for that wayward pass. He's meant to be an experienced former international. He was playing LB, made the bad pass carrying the ball through the center of midfield, running to the right flank. What in f***ing jah's name is that?? I will not fault Taylor for the first goal, as 9.5 times out of 10 he will put his body on the line and make the block. Tiote's inaccurate passing and ineffective "protecting" of the back 4 should be highlighted for all to see. This guy thinks he's the dog's bollocks, and has been nothing more than a mediocre version of Amdy Faye this season. Completely at fault for one of their goals today (can't remember which, but he failed to make a block, and didn't bother to track his man". Shola Ameobi? I wouldn't even know where to start. He should show him a clip of that fluffed header, and then turn off the monitor. These were supposed to be our big game experienced players. These are the players who have played in the derby before, and knew what it meant. And they let us down big style. Most of the new players can be absolved to a certain degree. Cisse, Marveaux and Ben Arfa couldn't have done much more. MYM, Debuchy and Gouffran have only been here 5 minutes. Lastly, Pardew should take a long long look at himself in the mirror and make his mind up on whether he wants to take this management lark seriously or not. Next week he will have run out of excuses to trawl out, so he will be bricking it. For the sake of this club he needs to pull 2 results out of the bag in the last 5 matches, so he better get to work sharpish. If by some miracle we get 4 points from the next two matches, Mike Ashley should put his foot down and pull the trigger, no two ways about it. Pardew is a charlatan, and it's plain for all to see.
  12. Pardew + Cabaye = not even worth 5mil A manager with half a brain who knows how to get the best out of him + Cabaye = 25mil
  13. Never ever ever thought he was intelligent He's ineloquent and can't speak his own language properly ffs!
  14. Will post my lineup again. Pardew really should see it this way, as it's clear as fucking day!! Elliot Debuchy Taylor Yanga-Mbiwa Haidara Cabaye Jonas Marveaux Ben Arfa Sissoko Cisse Gouffran and Tiote should be dropped. The former not necessarily on form or effort, but more due to the inept clown at the helm. Jonas is calm and doesn't charge about the way Tiote does. He will help Cabaye no end. Marveaux is a central player, and not a winger. Neither is Sissoko, but he could play the wide left role IMO and cut inside as he did 2nd half today. His sheer presence will move markers about and create space. Gouffran in Pardew's current game plan plays with his back to goal way too much, and cannot drive us forward. Sissoko can turn and can bulldoze his way forward. A left back at left back. Cheers Alan. Most importantly we need to play compact. This is one of the simple basics of coaching, and how someone like Pardew, who supposedly has earned his Pro licence doesn't seem to give a shit about players staying close to each other is mind boggling. The team should move backwards and forwards as a unit. For fuck's sake it cannot get simpler than this! None of our players were born in the Pardew household, so I'm pretty sure they CAN execute this having played football elsewhere. Give the simple things a good go, and if we lose to a better side, so be it. And the set pieces.... Oh my days. This season can fuck right off!
  15. Not a wide forward. Either play him in a front two with Cisse, or use him as his understudy. Under the current management, he is completely wasted out wide, and totally unsure of what his role should be. Also, as bright and intelligent as he is, he is nowhere near the level of quality that merits starting matches ahead of Marveaux. Should make way for Marveaux in the starting lineup for the rest of the season, barring injuries, and come on ahead of Shola when we're looking to add bodies to the forward line.
  16. There really is no one obvious out there. We'd have to take a punt on someone young and upcoming. Benitez is pretty much the only one I would take from the "obvious" options.
  17. Elliot Debuchy Taylor Yanga-Mbiwa Haidara Cabaye Jonas Marveaux Ben Arfa Sissoko Cisse
  18. Pardew: "Come on Hataam *clap clap clap. Hataaaaam, come on *clap clap clap. Clearly looking for his individual genius to save him. Cunt.
  19. I want him out as much as the next man, but howay man how the fuck are you insinuating that fans who have backed him are to blame for this? Do you mean Pardew out chants in the ground? Banners?
