  1. signed him and realised he was shit, aye.
  2. Hleb isnt worth a dime, and in Italy his career will be over. The Ibrahimovic = Etoo+40m? Waste of money
  3. but Lescott (and everyone else they've signed this summer) wouldn't be going there purely for money? Right... I reckon what he means is that it would be a step down for Terry to move, footballing wise. Therefore he'd obviously only move for the money. With Lescott though, it could be a relative step up, playing alongside some serious big names, for a club who will be going places in a couple of years time. No offence to Everton whatsoever btw. Noel Gallagher is still a twat though, I agree
  4. Knight is off to Bolton. Distin is signing today apparently, to replace Laursen, and I suspect someone like Onuoha won't want to be nominal fourth choice CB, he'll go somewhere he'll get more games. top signing for you lot
  5. everytime i refresh and see the thread title, a little part of me dies
  6. I've got vague memories of being lectured by a Villa fan when I said something about Villa playing in claret and blue, said something like "We do NOT play in claret and blue, that's West Ham. We play in (insert some very similar sounding colours)" But that could have been another team, it could have been the other way round (West Ham don't play in claret and blue, that's us) or I could have dreamt it. Actually, it could have been a team I referred to as just playing in sky blue I was corrected on. Could you have just been sitting at home playing FM after a big night out?
  7. This true? You best not be lying man
  8. r.i.p. NUFC as we've known it for the last 20 odd years
  9. it will happen when we least expect it
  10. Naught? Cease this tomfoolery. Fine fine Kyle do it. Kyle cease immediately. You're upsetting me with this insubordination.

  13. Was just going to say this, he thought of a football club as a rich man's toy and amusement for the weekends. His naivety was staggering. So no one thinks that his business model could have worked for other clubs? What was Ashley's single biggest mistake? The Keegan debacle? or was it the fact that he let the club play out more than half the season with Hughton and Kinnear in charge? These weren't business mistakes. What hurt Ashley the most as owner of the club was when he started to piss on the fans from a great height thinking he could do whatever he wanted and get away with it. His business model could have worked at other clubs, as it could have here, but he appointed the wrong people and f***ed up nearly every decision he ever made. I agree. But if he'd been the owner at say Fulham, he wouldn't have fallen into the trap of appointing a massive figure like Keegan. Obviously a figure like him brings sentimentality and a rallying of the troops. We're just not a straightforward club, which is why he has failed so miserably, for not recognizing that.

  15. The question is rhetorical yes. What I'm really asking though is, would his business model, systems and actions have worked had he bought a lower profile club?
  16. Been thinking about this for a while. Has Mike Ashley gone and invested in the wrong club in buying NUFC? What if he had bought a smaller club with a smaller, "less passionate" fan base, smaller (more manageable) debt, and a lower profile? Would his methods have worked? Say he went and bought a Blackburn, a Fulham, or a Wigan. How do you think it would have turned out for him?
  17. kin hell lads!! easy on the nsfw material! warn a brother or something!
  18. I don't think it's as simple as just passing over a brief case of money. And if it is, they'll be there for f***ing ever counting £100m. "There you go Mr Ashley. I couldn't get 50s as the bank only had £5's left..." Banks hand out £5?, well not at ATM's in anyway, everytime I go to one I always get £10 notes, even if I take like £100 out, which has been a while because I havn't had that much for a long time now. Anyone got any jobs going?
