Sadly that's true, and who can blame them? If I wasn't a toon fan, and I was earning a fortune a week, I'd be off to Milan/Madrid/London in a shot. All we can do is gradually build ourselves back up to a side that will attract players for what we achieve on the pitch. That can take time, but it's more than possible. I bet Tevez and Ronaldo wouldn't be in Manchester if they weren't such a massive success - achievement can overcome geography, but it doesn't happen overnight. We were almost there but we f***ed it up, so we need to face that fact and rebuild. so they DO exist!!!! thank f*** for that! Who do? people who talk sense, like your good self sire

so which is it NE5? I'm not a fence sitter myself, but it appears you're swinging your views back and forth as it suits. Please clarify if you've got the time. Thanks its quite simple. We failed to sign a player the manager wanted, and in this case, he wasn't even first choice. well, let's assume KK wanted Aimar, and agreed with Wise and co to go for him. We put in a bid, which was accepted by all "press" accounts. Let's also say that said club and player had other offers on the table. Doesn't said player then get to choose which club he wants to play for? naturally factoring in his own ambition, the club's ambition, wages, european football, city, climate etc...etc... what if the player really did turn us down in favour of Benfica? why does that automatically indicate failure on our part? he's south american remember, and has been a relatively big name charlie for a few yrs now. There may be several reasons why he would choose Benfica over us, and none of them have to be automatically due to our club failing at boardroom/Wise level. just the same way you accuse people of having an agenda against the old board, you clearly use every chance you get to criticize the new board, even when factual information is scarce and all that's available is unsubstantiated drivel written up by some 2 bit journo.

Man City seek help from three-legged monkey toads

They must be cross-bred with monkeys though ofc wouldn't they also have to be in-bred to have 3 legs in the first place? -

Your post would hit home if the date was August 17th or something. In all fairness the thread title is your disclaimer, but I still think sections of our support are in a panic due to the club keeping schtum about transfers. IMO it's bittersweet, as it frustrates us fans not hearing a peep come out of even Keegan, but at the same time, it's giving me personally great satisfaction to see that we're not going around tooting our own horn (as that unspeakable abhorrent shower of shit*lot down south do). Give it time, and bear with it. There's a lot going on behind the scenes, I'm sure we all know that. For the first time in a long time there is a feeling of hope, even if it's only down to the fact that it's a relatively new board, and we haven't got a clue what it's up to yet.

oh and for the record, i'd take Frings in the first team in a shot. Absolutely class player

Says we thought we had him all wrapped up after agreeing a fee, but that the word in Spain (!) on BRFCS.co.uk is that we couldn't agree personal terms. A worrying development, according to AO ... Not convinced loliver knows any more than we do tbh. has no one noticed your pet name for AO yet? You seem to make double the effort to comment on anything he's said just to get your loliver bit in It's because it's crap No doubting the shite that comes out of that cunt's mouth! Just fascinated with Dave's mind I suppose. Think i'm in love with him

so which is it NE5? I'm not a fence sitter myself, but it appears you're swinging your views back and forth as it suits. Please clarify if you've got the time. Thanks just read his posts and it seems to me he's spot on - the ambition he refers to is to complete deals isn't? he says something is wrong, ambition or whatever woodgate, modric, aimar have all been moved for and turned us down to some degree so he's right, something is missing - whether ambition is the right word is neither here nor there my opinion, however, is that a bid for aimar shouldn't be considered ambitious - we've just lost him to benfica if reports are correct, wasn't so long ago they were picking up our cast offs for nothing... EDIT: also meant to say in that last part about his career appearing to be on the decline as well, but forgot The club has been on the decline since the appointment of Souness. What I mean by that is our league finishes have been largely s*** since SBR's last season in charge. Ashley, Keegan and co have come into this club well aware of the need to REBUILD its stature. No wonder players turn us down when they have witnessed the last 3 or 4 years of total shambles. not disagreeing, but we've been this bad before and still managed to get the players we wanted - as ATB says by offering money basically it still makes NE5 right, somethings missing, call it money if you want What's "missing" essentially is football's perception of the club. We have had too much bad press for a variety of reasons in recent years, be it Shepherd, the sackings, ill-disciplined players, high profile errors on the pitch etc..etc.. the list can go on. We HAVE been the butt of many a joke lately, and are considered by your average fan (and equally, football people) as a club in a mess. The media have also successfully managed to make the "high expectation/morbidly delusional fans" tag stick. For now, we need to go about our business quietly, and assemble a squad of decent players, relying on Keegan to work his magic, and get the players playing for him and giving 150% for the cause, and hopefully start climbing back up that league table. It's risky business, but at the end of the day, risky is exactly what business is.

Another overrated footballer in the "untidy" column for me Worth nowhere near 20 million. In his last year at Chelsea, I wouldn't value him at over the original 7m that was bandied about

That you nicko?? fuck right off if it is if it's just nicky, then what the fuck are you doing reading the sun???

One of the most unselfish players i've ever seen. Very rarely shot when I saw him, always looking for the pass even if its one too many. Disagree there like. I think he is overrated. Aye can dribble, but his passing isnt firm enough. Quite scruffy in style, and his football is the same. Often see the ball bobbling around him. I personally don't rate untidy players

I understand your concern, but having witnessed the Messiah essentially raise Nazareth from the dead anything is possible. If Keegan could get Owen going again, breath some life into Geremi's legs and bring some sense of direction to Butt's passes then I am very hopeful. Never underestimate a positive manager when it comes to things like injuries and a loss of form. If Allardyce was signing him I wouldn't be anywhere near as optimistic. you mean Lazarus? Oh dear! Being themanupstairs you would notice that wouldn't you. Sorry big man. P.S. could you push the Aimar deal through pronto. Cheers. Amen. Aye, only one path to redemption my son....pull your finger out I'm working on the Aimar thing, but the missus quite fancies Jimmy Bullard and thinks he's the better player the daft cunt
