  1. You make it sound like Hull will be kicking lumps out of your players, because they fear the expansive flowing football that would occur otherwise. You arejoking/exaggerating, right? No, they'll be kicking lumps out of our players because they know that fundamentally they are better given time and space. Disrupting our play is a pretty easy and effective tactic, but one the likes of Man Utd don't have to worry about. All Bob's saying is that we'll not have the space to pass the ball about and counter like we did against Man Utd as it'll be a totally different style of game. And I agree. I also agree, just the way he worded it. Fwiw, 0-0.

At first I thought, nah, PFA award of the year isn't appropriate, maybe some sort of separate award for his outstanding contribution to English football for so long. And then I thought, who else this year has shone enough to be a clear favourite for PFA Player of the Year? Certainly in with a shout, rightly so. Not underrated though. Anything but.
  3. just the players ? Good point. The tea over there is bloody awful.
  4. As much as Mourinho as a manager is a refreshing personality, the Inter I saw tonight/2 weeks ago were identical to the team I've seen for the past 4-5 years in the CL.

  6. Vicenzo Montella? CM 01/02 legend?
  7. Albet negativity is inevitable, the extremity of it is such that you'd think you were in West Brom's position. Easier said than done but keep your heads, you're not even in the relegation zone at the moment.
  8. Arsenal at home is unwinnable, right-oh. I'm perplexed also as to how people have come to the conclusion that a loss on Saturday = relegation. Peculiar. I can still see the last 2 home games against Boro and Fulham being the make-or-break games, not Hull on Saturday, albeit a loss would be hugely damaging, if other results go against you.
  9. Blatter and Platini won't be pleased if all 4 English teams are in the CL quarters (again), I'd guess.
  10. Boumsong vs Messi, Henry and Eto'o. A real err, titanic battle.
  11. I'm going 2-1 to Man Utd; Tevez and Berbatov with the goals. Stankovic for Inter.
  12. I think you'll scrape through, but people aren't giving consideration to the fact that if Inter score, you're in trouble. 0-0 away from home in Europe isn't as good as people make out.
  13. The simple fact is that Real don't have the quality in their side at the moment to cope with such an intense game, i.e. the one Liverpool delivered tonight, and in particular the first half an hour. Gago and Diarra are good, if they're given the time to show how good they are. They are not experienced enough to control the midfield in a game such as tonight's, imo. The Real Madrid that people often get in their heads of fantasy football is dead for the time being, barring the odd game or 2 where everything will click (e.g. 6-1 against Betis at half-time recently). That's how I see it anyway.
  14. Better actually. You scored against Liverpool.
  15. I think it's cause I bet on them. I'm cursed this season. Tell me about it. Aside from the random shock results; is there a way of calculating how likely it is to be one-off in a certain accumulator? The sheer frequency at which I experience this is plain worrying. E.g. I have 3 on tonight; a total of 10 teams. It's likely 7 will come through. The 3 that I don't get could well be on each line. This is happened numerous times, arrrrgh!
  16. What the hell? Sheff Utd and Exeter, both near the top of their respective leagues, 1-0 up at home to sides near the bottom. Now they're both losing. Just... eh?
  17. In today's game, it was a foul. The hand clearly came onto the shoulder, and in today's climate, that's a foul. Or so I thought.
  18. Not so much the fact there's only 45 minutes. It's the fact they're playing Liverpool, with special guest 12th man, the referee. Well, more like weekly guest.
  19. Liverpool deserve to be 2 up. But.... Both goals were a joke. The penalty.... all I can do is sigh. Anger doesn't even come to the surface, because it's not a surprise anymore. The first should have been disallowed. Not saying that in my ideal footballing world that it should be a foul, but Torres put his hand on Pepe's shoulder. Why isn't a free kick? Ridiculous.
  20. Thus I don't understand some people (well, mainly my friends) saying that Man Utd are strong favourites. How? One goal for Inter puts them in the s**t.
  21. Very much agreed. As well as being a talented, athletic footballer, he strikes me as the type who doesn't brag about his lifestyle much and is fairly easy-going. Re: the Liverpool match, I think it'll be 0-0 or 1-1, thus sending the B-starreds through.
  22. Ah right, got that one wrong. Seemed to think they employed an attacking 4-3-1-2 system with Senna holding. I blame Sky Sports Spanish Football for being inaccurate I still think he could work in a 4 man midfield, possibly a narrow one. His game is based on his intelligence, not particularly strong physical attributes, so the athleticism and stamina of the midfield around him would be a key factor in his potential success in that system.
  23. Only works in any league in a 5 man midfield. Villarreal play with 2 strikers don't they?
  24. We'll need that sort of game/goal again. All aboard the luck express. Daniel f***ing Amakachi still has the power to reduce me to tears . Think you lot have a genuine chance of winning it tbh. You impressed me at the Lane this season in a 'f*** me, we're never gonna score' sort of way. Let me ask you something, what's your opinions on Cahill? I happen to think he's quite a limited player who possesses the best headers in the league, but can only perform in a 4-5-1 where he's given the freedom to roam, and join the attack whenever he wants. He's tackling is on par with Scholes, but i don't think he's a nasty player in the slightest. What i'm trying to get at is i doubt he'll be anywhere near as effective in a standard 4-4-2, where the manager actually gives him set instructions. Have i got it wrong?? Average player who thrives on freedom. Technically he's mediocre. Shooting, anything harder than a short, basic pass, general control, are all not particularly good. When he's behind the striker or the striker himself, I think he relishes the responsibility and importance of him. His heading is outstanding, near enough the best in the league when you consider his height. His awareness of where to be in terms of being in the right place at the right time is also impressive. In a 4-4-2 though, he's invisible. Re: tackling, he's abysmal, and I can see why opposition fans think he's a little s**t, but I don't think he's that bad. Fellaini is an even worse situation; 12 yellow cards iirc, and I can't remember one particularly dangerous or violent challenge. In terms of the semi final, I just can't see it. Our midfield is at times shockingly inept and ineffective, Spurs midfield at times looks on a different planet to ours and when you consider the league positions it really emphasises how in need of help ours is. Seeing it being crippled with injuries time and again, as well as our best player by far being out injured doesn't help, but still, basic quick passing and movement is often beyond us. I think we'll be outclassed in midfield, albeit sturdy in defence.
  25. We'll need that sort of game/goal again. All aboard the luck express.
