  1. Could have told us there was half an hour left A bold statement if ever I saw one. Hmm.
  2. On paper as well, a hugely attractive game, good to see it deliver.
  3. But the Premiership has, like, passion and stuff!!!!!
  4. That's the bit that winds me up as well, they seem to think they know more when a large percentage of them are clueless. I guess any fanbase has got its collection of mongs, though. The lad I mentioned for example has come out with statements such as "Tevez is useless" (best forward imo in terms of overall contribution to the team), "it's a known fact our biggest rivalry is against Chelsea" (that's a new one to me), and generally just not having a clue about them.
  5. They won't be taking it seriously next year either, mainly because they won't be in it. Thank f***.
  6. Think it was 15 points at one stage. Certainly double figures. Credit to Real though, Barca with as mentioned a +50 goal difference and just 3 defeats this season, only 4 points above them. Think thats 10 league wins in a row for Real.
  7. Lad in our flat is a Man U fan, didn't even know a) the Carling Cup Final was today, or b) they were in it.
  8. I f***ing hate Ian (The Prophet), hacking b***tard! To set the story straight, despite his wind-up abilities: I support Everton, I've supported Everton for as long as I can remember, my parents are from Newcastle, but grew up in Darlington. He enjoys winding me/everyone else up.
  9. Guess I've got to be delighted with another 3 points today and a clean sheet again, but no doubt West Brom more than matched us, poor from us and decided by poor defending, and an excellent goal. That said, WBA didn't really carve out many clear cut chances, albeit they had some bad luck. Sums up their season really, putting in performances and not getting results. Harsh league tbh.
  10. DUZ DIS MEEN LIVAPOOL ARE OUT OF DA TITLE RACEEE!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!! What about Chelsea! Liverpool!? Chelsea!! Liverpool!!?!?!?!?! Man U!!!!
  11. I hate to say it but West Brom are 16/5 to get a draw at Goodison or so I saw somewhere - great value imo. 4/9 is very short value for ourselves. EDIT: Mind, I thought we'd draw against Bolton.

Just to say, couldnt get on the site for a while there. Don't know if the problem was widespread though.
  13. To qualify for the CL, there's a big difference. I still think it's a bit of an insult to the UEFA Cup when Villa have a perfectly reasonable chance of winning it. On a sidenote, do you think you'd cope with the CL? Do you have the financial capabilities to improve your squad in such a small period of time? I dont know if we'll cope, or strengthen enough, but if we don't strengthen, it won't be due to lack of money. He's got pretty much an open chequebook, it will be about getting the right players in. He's done it the right way so far, buying players to improve us in steps, i just dont think he expected to be challening for a CL place this season, so it has caught him on the hop. That's the thing. I fear that you'd be qualifiying for it too soon and if you do get into the group stages of the CL next season will you be able to cope with that and the league, as well as other games? Imo you need a quality technical midfielder in the centre who can dictate games. Someone to complement Barry.

  15. So Villa are fighting in the PL to qualify for Europe.... where they can play their youth team because they're too bothered about the PL?

erest? Why do you hate them out of interest? He's a Poolie? That would most likely explain it.

And there's some more irony for you. When Reynolds got their new stadium built he didn't really consider the location or the impact it might have if 25,000 all turned up at once. Unfortunately for the club, Darlington council did consider it, due to the stadium's location there's no adequate parking nearby for any great numbers of fans to use. The council stepped in to stop any more than about 12,000 people entering the stadium. So even if they were to go on a bizarre cup run playing against all of the Sky 4 at home they'd be prevented from selling all their tickets. There's even been talk of knocking down a whole stand to build offices, homes & shops just so they can make better use of the stadium than just having an empty stand at every game. Average attendance is about 3,000. Sums up the utter madness of building that stadium.

George Reynolds stabbed the club in the front and the back by insisting to push forward with the stadium, utter lunacy. The club's been bleeding since, patched up by glimmers of hope, i.e. fairly good league performances, playoffs last year for example. But from people I know who go to the games and follow them more than me, this isn't a huge surprise, albeit very sad. Really hope someone can help them out.

  21. I didn't see the game, but Madrid Porto ending 2-2 tonight I'd expect goes to show you don't necessarily have to have the biggest clubs to have the best games, quite often it's to the contrary.
