For all the midfielders they have, you feel Spurs really do need someone like Eriksen. They have some exceptional athletes and plenty of talented footballers, but it all seems a bit "let's do this as fast as we can" as opposed to actually thinking it through. They'll be a force this year, no doubt. But it's still a work in progress.

He was excellent with the media with us IMO. Threw a hissy fit or 2 but nothing much out of the ordinary. Vast majority of the time he called it how he saw it, no messing around. Ask a stupid question get a stupid answer kind of attitude. This moaning about the fixtures etc is definitely far more heightened than it ever was at us. That said, a point worth making is his comments will be under the microscope more at Man Utd. I bet a fair few managers across the league will make similar complaints - irrespective of whether any have justification - during the course of the season, but they won't get picked up on as much.

Fast becoming apparent Di Canio is nothing more than a showman with a distinct lack of managerial ability at this level.

I'm a big fan of his but he has been poor so far. Generally I'm convinced he'll still do very well this season. But for FF, I'm having doubts. Got him myself, and with Chelsea next, it's tempting to get rid in a couple of weeks.

A manager emphasising a positive, forward-thinking, creative style of play will generally lead to this. It'll also often lead to shit defending given Palace's squad, but fair play.
