    Other clubs' transfers

Cole was mediocre last year, Baines was on a different level. I'm not saying the latter is the better player overall but last season there was no contest. Interesting to see how they fare this year and whether Baines can maintain his level of performance and whether Cole will improve his.

He isn't one of the top three left backs in London. Bit far Cole Assou-Ekotto Salcido A damning indictment of Herita Ilunga's unrivalled ability.

What happened with Boateng, i.e. why wasn't he given much of a chance? Clichy's hardly an upgrade on Kolarov. Just a very confusing move.

You mustn't watch much of Arsenal then. He's a liability.

Baines and Enrique were better left backs overall last year.

He isn't one of the top 3 left backs in the league either.

I find it hard to assume any sort of loyalty in football nowadays.

    Sunderland...

I'd say it's actually quite a different situation to you. You're the ones with a team that is able to significantly improve upon your position last season whereas Sunderland seem content to stand still and consolidate. With our squad as it stands I don't think we'll do better than last season, personally. Granted, I've assumed you'll add a striker before the season. Of course, no-one really knows until the transfer window shuts but if you gave me the choice as to which side has more potential to progress and make a real improvement this season then for me, it's a no-brainer.

Wahey, see if Fred can do owt.
  15. Seems fair enough. That's pretty long.
  16. Because Messi is a superior player who is able to impact games in a way Ronaldo can not. The latter is, of course, a sublime player in his own right and those 2 are by far the best 2 in the world but Messi is the outright best because he's quite simply better.

Was that Julio Cesar's first touch with his hands?

Arsene would be proud of some of the situations Brazil are wasting early on.
