  1. Aye, I did say it was s*** like, didn't I. Aye, I did say you did, didn't I. Just the general consensus some are portraying. Defoe has generally been a very good goalscorer for club and country, to say otherwise is mental IMO. Yeah, he's not Shearer (1 in 2) or Messi/Ronaldo/Torres/Drogba (1 in 1) but there tends to be a very small bunch of fantastic strikers and a very large bunch of mediocre strikers. Defoe is neither. Very true sir. Nah, middle ground doesn't exist. Either someone is wonderful or they're s***. Since Defoe isn't great, he's automatically s*** and you, a team consistently playing Shola Ameobi and Peter Lovenkrands, should stay well away. Of course, it's not that realistic Spurs would sell for a reasonable fee (under £8m) and it remains to be seen what wages he'd ask for. This is the epitome of straw-manning the s*** out of something, incase anyone needed a decent example Wrong. I never said anyone said he's s***, I'm commenting - tongue in cheek - on the surprising negative reaction to a player who is proven in this league and certainly not someone I'd call finished at this level. the whole post, tongue in cheek or not, was designed to sugest that there is no gray area, and that people are either suggesting he is amazing or turd. Considering nobody has even come close to seriously suggesting either of these things (exept jason and his "hauls of goals" imagery) you pretty much straw-manned the whole fucking thread Whatever you say. It was a throwaway comment like most of the stuff on here.
  2. I've watched him twice this season and he scored 5 goals in those 2 games. He's obviously a good player from his record but I know absolutely nothing about him. Just being honest. I've seen him play a few odd games and he's been pretty impressive. That's the extent of what I know about him and I'd imagine the vast, vast majority's, barring those who watch Ligue 1 most weeks. Couldn't tell you if he'd actually succeed in the PL.
  3. Seems he wants to go to Valencia. Or is that old news?
  4. Whatcha talkin' 'bout Babelfish?

  7. Because he'll return that with a haul of goals? He's done it all his career, I really don't know what standard of striker people are expecting us to sign to be honest, given the response to Defoe being linked. Jermain Defoe? A haul of goals? All his career? Jesus f***ing wept. Oh the hilarity 178 goals in 431 apps. Pathetic record. 100 goals in 307 premiership apearances, an absolute haul of goals mate, a haul of goals! Or maybe... it's not spectacular and it's not awful. Just a wild thought.
  8. Defoe? I'd have him at Everton. He wouldn't be my first choice but if you said, here he is for a reasonable fee and not on huge wages, then I'd say yes.

    Alan Pardew

What, you mean they're seriously debating the fact the SPL is a vastly inferior league? Jesus wept. It's awful, man.
  10. words fail me Wigan fans should be enthused by the fact everyone thinks they're shit. With some effort and luck, they could even get half of that soulless stadium full.
  11. Have you not heard about our new Galacticos strategy? Bothroyd is Zidane, Tony Hibbert is Pavon.

    Alan Pardew

He was supposed to have been an upgrade, our league position suggests that he's not. I'm not contending that point though, the decision to sack hughton was ridiculous, but at the same time Pardew has come in and done a decent job. I think there is some underestimation of the fact Pardew had to pick up a group of players who were no doubt in shock and probably didn't agree with the removal of Hughton either. Pardew has done well; time will tell if he spends whatever money he gets well.

My word. I think you're onto something here.
  14. Writer must have been laughing when typing "Owen may not have been central to Man U's success..." so as to not sound too harsh. He's been insignificant in the extreme. Shut up Michael, just admit you're an attention-seeking has-been.
  15. Got through the entire league but refused to acknowledge a 2nd Man U-Sunderland game.

"This season's performances have fallen short of expectations and the club feels the time is right to make this change ahead of next season's preparations."

Simpson's just tweeted some Sunderland WUM with "5-1 mate".

Jumped before he was pushed. Yep. Something's gone on behind the scenes once again with Roman, and Ancelotti's rightly thought "fuck this shit." That's my interpretation, anyway.

    Fucking ridiculous.
