I've watched him twice this season and he scored 5 goals in those 2 games. He's obviously a good player from his record but I know absolutely nothing about him. Just being honest. I've seen him play a few odd games and he's been pretty impressive. That's the extent of what I know about him and I'd imagine the vast, vast majority's, barring those who watch Ligue 1 most weeks. Couldn't tell you if he'd actually succeed in the PL.

Because he'll return that with a haul of goals? He's done it all his career, I really don't know what standard of striker people are expecting us to sign to be honest, given the response to Defoe being linked. Jermain Defoe? A haul of goals? He was supposed to have been an upgrade, our league position suggests that he's not. I'm not contending that point though, the decision to sack hughton was ridiculous, but at the same time Pardew has come in and done a decent job. I think there is some underestimation of the fact Pardew had to pick up a group of players who were no doubt in shock and probably didn't agree with the removal of Hughton either. Pardew has done well; time will tell if he spends whatever money he gets well.
