  1. Remember, in Mark Bright, we are dealing with a man here who said: "If Everton finish in a Champions League place, they'll play in the Champions League."
  2. Oh, wow, it was Clattenburg in the Man Utd game. Shock.
  3. The sad thing from their perspective is they'll probably beat Sunderland 3-0/4-1 or something next week and they'll pretend everything's OK again. It is truly baffling how a manager of Wenger's aptitude has done so little to address such glaring weaknesses. How many times is he going to let them fuck up before he actually does something about it?
  4. You lot go to the San Paolo in the penultimate week don't you?
  5. I want some of whatever you're on.
  6. I seem to remember Ipswich playing Inter too. 3-0/4-0 iirc, Vieri scored?
  7. Inter need someone like Muntari here to help them see the game out.
  8. For most of this game and indeed a lot of the time I watch Inter, there's just a distinct lack of movement, speed and cohesion apart from the odd game, or the odd move here and there. Regardless of whether that's symptomatic of Italian football generally, that's a bit worrying for a team who are supposed to be one of the best in the league. Still, as you say, Leo's not had much time there at all. It also helps when there are players of Sneijder's quality who can stick in a free kick to win a game.
  9. Yep, Del Neri went to Juve too. Of course. Still, it's quite the drop from last year. Do you reckon they're in serious danger of getting sucked into a relegation fight or will they come good, relatively, and finish 8th/9th?
  10. 1-0 Inter always looked likely considering how, for lack of a better word, shit the game's been for the most part. Why have Samp struggled so badly this year? Is it just down to the loss of Pazz and Cass?
  11. The ex-Boro star should've put Samp ahead.
  12. A shot at goal! Progress for Inter.
  13. Post comes to Inter's rescue.
  14. Looking forward to tomorrow night's game, just hope it doesn't disappoint. What an opportunity for Napoli to send a message and a half. Bigger game for them than Meelan in terms of the title race.
  15. I don't know. He might have recovered from his injury?
  16. Teressa Herrera or something like that? I seem to recall a thread with an amusing title of "Barton marches into Spain and takes control of the TH trophy"; I'm not sure if there was a particular joke there but it had me laughing.
  17. Eh? I know you haven't been in Europe enough to see the crippling despair of losing a diamond earing in Bnei Sachnin's away changing room. It has an effect. You're an even worse WUM than you are a general football poster.

    Sunderland...

I'd love to see Wearside and RiverWear respond to that, because they conveniently ignore that point when they talk about money being available in the summer... Are you not allowed to loan players from next season? It's a system that is working well for us and we are not doing anything wrong by signing players through this method, some might say it's abusing the system and possibly it is, but it means strengthening the squad without much capital outlay and you will always get good players through loans. It can be difference between a good first 12/13 players and having a good squad and I think more and more clubs will be going down this route. It always gives a club the chance to look at a player before committing millions of pounds on him.Look at Welbeck for example, hardly any club would have paid big money for him last summer and we will have paid a small loan fee and he has been a major success and if Ferguson is willing to let him go I'm sure we will be first in line to get him, while at the same time a club like Man Utd will be willing to lend us more players in future due to Ferguson knowing we will play the young players. If 6 goals in 20 games is a "major success" then fair enough. Welbeck has played the majority of his games in midfield and would walk into most teams outside the top 5.If you want to go down the route of judging him on goals then he is on par with Wayne Rooney. Sorry, it was 22 games. OK.... what about is his assists? Or shall we say his assist? He's done well for a young lad but I see little to suggest he's been a "major" success. If he keeps up the goalscoring form he found before his injury, when he gets back, then that view might change.
