    Sunderland...

I'd love to see Wearside and RiverWear respond to that, because they conveniently ignore that point when they talk about money being available in the summer... Are you not allowed to loan players from next season? It's a system that is working well for us and we are not doing anything wrong by signing players through this method, some might say it's abusing the system and possibly it is, but it means strengthening the squad without much capital outlay and you will always get good players through loans. It can be difference between a good first 12/13 players and having a good squad and I think more and more clubs will be going down this route. It always gives a club the chance to look at a player before committing millions of pounds on him.Look at Welbeck for example, hardly any club would have paid big money for him last summer and we will have paid a small loan fee and he has been a major success and if Ferguson is willing to let him go I'm sure we will be first in line to get him, while at the same time a club like Man Utd will be willing to lend us more players in future due to Ferguson knowing we will play the young players. If 6 goals in 20 games is a "major success" then fair enough.
  2. As your team often demonstrate when the going gets tough. We can get to see this mental strength, great! Shame their "mental strength" will get them no trophies yet again.
  3. Arsenal may be making profits, but it's not all that great when Wenger can't use that money in the right way.
  4. At least they can drop Szczensy for Almunia...Fabianksi...err.... but still, at least if Koscielny needs a few games out they can bring in Squillaci...erm...Vermaelen...oh s***. Arsenal need new defender/GK ===> defence/GK have a few good games ===> Wenger has confidence in them ===> mistake(s) Option A: Get new, average defender. More mistakes. Option B: Keep faith in your already average backline. It's OK, you don't want to turn your back on them. More mistakes. Repeat to infinity. Keep the faith. The team is still young, remember? Absolutely. After all, this team is getting stronger mentally each year.

  6. Arsenal's attitude stinked today. IMO they underestimated Birmingham and Brum rose to the occasion. Foster had a good game and that was that - deserved result.
  7. Kind draws and some good old-fashioned graft.
  8. Arsenal have no-one but themselves to blame. And Wenger has no-one but himself to blame for his inability to strengthen Arsenal in their most needed area.
  9. Man City, last minute, are they storming forward? No, they're slowly passing it around their defence.
  10. Nope. If Arsenal win the Carling Cup it goes to 6th (assuming they finish top five which they will). If a top six club win the FA Cup it goes to 7th, runner up gets fuck all. If Liverpool win the Europa League and finish in the top five then 8th can get into Europe. We want Arsenal to win this, Man Utd etc to win the FA Cup and Liverpool win the Europa League and finish in the top five. That gives us the best chance of getting into Europe. Like the fuck that is gonna happen. The best chance is Arsenal win this and ManUSA/Arsenal/City win the FA cup. Well yes, I'm just saying that it doesn't matter who the FA Cup losers are. If the winner is already qualified it goes to the next league spot. "As well as being presented with the trophy, the winning team also qualifies for the UEFA Europa League (formerly named the UEFA Cup). If the winners have already qualified for the UEFA Champions League via the Premier League, the UEFA Europa League place goes to the FA Cup runners-up. If they also have qualified for the UEFA Champions League, or are not entitled to play in UEFA competitions for any reason, the place goes to the next highest placed finisher in the league table."
  11. Man City, chasing a goal, took off Dzeko in the 60th minute and put on.... Vieira.
  12. "If the winners have already qualified for the UEFA Champions League via the Premier League, the UEFA Europa League place goes to the FA Cup runners-up."
  13. Are Arsenal intending on turning up later?
  14. If Arsenal win, 7th is a european spot. Nope. 6th. I thought 6th was anyway? Ah well, the principle is the same. No, it's the top 5. But it would be 7th if the FA Cup was won by a top 5 team as well, oui? Aye. Not sure what the rules are about the runner-up, though.
  15. "Forget about the price tag, he's repaying it." This statement confuses me.
  16. It really isn't. Birmingham can now justifiably try to shut up shop.
  17. If Arsenal win, 7th is a european spot. Nope. 6th.
  18. Fully deserved. Arsenal have been half-asleep.
