  1. I'm not one to disappoint mate. But, can anyone see this squad being good enough to stay up? Err, yes.
  2. Christ, I knew he was bad but he really is shite like isn't he?

    Kevin Nolan

He wasn't, but he did his usual party trick of completely disappearing from the game. Harsh to single him out when the rest of the midfield did exactly the same. Yeah, I'll admit that. Like I've said I haven't seen him contribute to the team effectively at all since the Mackems game. Aye, Blackburn played three centre backs to nullify his bursts into the box while he didn't really impose himself against Fulham I'll never forget that goal last year against.. Blackpool was it? Where he literally just very lightly jogged past 2 or 3 players and tapped it in.

For me, he was very ineffectual today because of a lack of a Tiote 'destroyer' in the midfield, and a lack of relative creativity from Barton. He is a goal-scoring passenger, it's a right dilemma. And no, he wasn't the worst player on the pitch today.
  5. He's worth hanging onto, just in case we go down again. "Here Wayne, you're going to be a key player for us you know - in our Championship season next year." Hughton's persuasive skillz.
  6. Would love you to beat them and really rock their ship but just can't see it. It sounds as though Terry will be back, albeit Alex, Lampard and Essien will be out so you'll be playing a far from full strength Chelsea side. Can just see Chelsea nicking it 2-1, and for them to surge once more with the latter two of their absentees coming back. I think you'll give a spirited performance, however. Performance doesn't get you points but would you 'take' that or do you think you should be getting something here?
  7. I'm failing to see any rationale behind playing the utterly woeful Smith today, instead of what was surely the blindingly obvious solution to Barton's idiocy and Tiote's absence: playing Guthrie in the middle and Routledge on the right; barring Routledge having some sort of knock in which case you'd have to question why he'd travel at all. You have to feel sorry for Guthrie really - he's not a particularly great or even good midfielder by PL standards but what is he supposed to do when being consistently played out of position? Reminds me of Capello inexplicably playing Jags at RB on Wednesday. What does Hughton expect him to do? Nolan was particularly ineffectual today (albeit not the worst on the pitch). But what was noticeable is how limited he looks without a Tiote 'destroyer' in the middle of the park, or the relative creativity of Barton on the right. Carroll did his best but was chasing a lost cause most of the time - a rerun of the England game again.
  8. To round off this ridiculous day, I'm expecting Reina, my FF keeper to concede a hatrick of Carlton Cole strikes before punching Avram Grant in the face and getting himself sent off.
  9. Alex played today, holding off surgery until Terry got back, which is he expected to do mid-week, if not, your game.
  10. Right, I'm fucking giving up. What the fuck is the fucking point? Brighton concede with the last fucking kick of the match.
  11. Right, this luck is just getting ridiculous now. Rodallega sent off, fuck off man.
  12. He'll probably get more as well. I'm getting him in - so that's the end of his points.
  13. They will. Sadly, I agree. Even more sadly, we've completely failed to take advantage of their shortcomings.
  14. wut. More like, the atmosphere of the stadium is consistently pathetic.
  15. VdV is keen for a yellow card it seems.
  16. Jenas and Pav playing, KD must be deeeeelighted.
