  1. Bit strange an Everton fan talking to a WBA fan on a Newcastle board, but (although everyone else won't like it), got to say how well you're doing so far, Di Matteo looks like he's got you playing well and working hard. Hawthorns is a much harder place to go to, though I guess this is really for PM. Anyway, don't think anyone seriously thinks Hughton's job is under threat. Just the media trying to squeeze a story out of nowt.

    Kevin Nolan

Well we need Nolan's ENGINE and PROFESSIONALISM so yeah, go on then.
  3. It's the thought that's gone into it. I like it for that alone.
  4. Think they're insignificant to fans of other clubs. On the whole, yes. But from being on this forum and 'following' Newcastle, their twat factor has risen. But otherwise, their club typifies mediocrity. To me, anyway.
  5. Just not fond of them. I'm a right haggler for teams getting undue luck, so them seemingly consistently scraping undeserved 1-0 wins gets right on me tits, the fact Darren Bent single handedly carries them, etc. You're my second team anyway so I see no reason not to support you come Sunday. Edit: I also see a lot of the rivalry, in the Everton-Liverpool rivalry. Maybe not quite so much now but when we were shit, and my word we were shit in the 1990s, there was far, far too much talk of what Liverpool were doing (well, from when I can properly remember, i.e. late 1990s onwards). Only in the past few years has it finally got away from talking about our neighbours. It's something Sunderland ought to do - it's pitiful how much they talk about you, and the Sunderland fans I know exemplify this trait.
  6. I'm going to essentially be a Newcastle fan on Sunday. I'll be supporting you, I'll be in the city from about midday and probably drinking thereafter.

    Sunderland...

    I admire the attempted creativity.

    Sunderland...

Time on the dole does wonders for one's writing skills.
  9. I'd like to think that was just him hyping up his own player but I fear hope it's another example of Roy completely losing his nut.

    Kevin Nolan

    He's already on 4 isn't he?

    Did he specify a quantity?
  12. Sky's intro on Sunday, anyone? FLAMES EXPLOSIONS 2 CITIES CARROLL BENT ENRIQUE BENT BARTON BENT HUGHTON BENT NEWCASTLE BENT ?
  13. He's absolutely critical, yes. I don't see us moving downwards (well I was hardly going to agree with was I? ) - we have the best squad and manager that I can remember in my lifetime. The megabucks of City has been a blow since up until 12 months ago we were without doubt better than them, but I see no reason why we shouldn't continue to challenge the upper echelons. For example I think we should (and will) be right in the mix for a top 6 spot this year.
  14. His opinion that we are "sharply on the decline"?

In all seriousness, he's as much of a 'central midfielder' as Tim Cahill is.
  16. "And yes, as soon as the game is finished, the Sunderland fans will wait in the stadium until the Newcastle fans, then the Mackems will get the bus back to Sunderland." Yes, and they'll be home for a nice cup of hot cocoa and bed. Who are Look North kidding?
  17. On another note, I'm going to put my money where my mouth is and stick some on 1-1 for the derby. Thought it'll be that all week and unless one side gets 6 injuries suddenly, I can't see me changing my mind.
  18. On the whole, Williamson's looks like he's made the step up to Premier League standard, however he's looked less confident in recent games (Wigan springs to mind).
  19. In fact, alot of the time it can be that 'oh i'll add them as well to boost the odds, they'll win' team that is the only one that doesn't come off. You're basically just hoping that everything goes to form. Yep, that's pretty much what happens. I just don't really have the money/balls to be going betting £50, £100 or so on stuff. If I did, I would have for example stuck a load on Arsenal last night because I had that unequivocal feeling of "they will definitely, definitely win." But meh, that's betting for you!
  20. Thing is though, betting is ultimately about profit. Bigger stakes, less odds, and you'll win more often. Much more often. It sounds so obvious yet many people, including myself, and seemingly you too, just ignore this, and just go for audacious 6 folds and shit. Greed's a bad thing.
