  1. Shit game tonight. Two teams who really don't look good enough to bother the top four. Watch Liverpool take fourth.
  2. VI, would it be right to say Ronaldo is their best player yet they play better without him?
  3. Barca down to 9, Getafe pen. Surely too late? Pen scored. 2-1.
  4. Grenoble 4-0 Auxerre, fucking hell.
  5. Personally, from what I've seen Hughton gets more right than he does wrong. His commitment to 4-5-1 away may produce frustrating football but you rarely look defensively leaky. Surely it's all about nicking 1-0 wins from even-ish games for the time being? (Yes, he didn't act quickly enough or indeed act at all at Leicester). That's just from what I've seen, like.
  6. So is that the same as Madrid and Barca both -2? Think Towel explained it the other week but I'm still not particularly clear on it.
  7. Your team really was horrible today. I don't know what Moyes said at halftime, but Everton were absolutely rubbished by ten players. I also don't understand why it took until the 70th minute to get Yakubu/Anichebe/Any other attacking option on the pitch. The team had a man advantage and was a goal down for a significant amount of time and Moyes persisted with the one striker. Generally just a very violent and terrible game. There were about 15-20 yellow card worthy tackles but not one memorabkle attacking movement or even moment of quality. We don't, and haven't for a while, known how to play against 10 men. It's a combination of that, and we get stage fright against the 'big' clubs far too often. We were shocking, Liverpool weren't much better but defended when needed to. And ultimately, didn't really need to do much else. Awful.
  8. Do it. I'll be blowing some money tomorrow, don't let me be alone.
  9. But on the other hand, the Darlo revovery is on. Have 6 points off Rotherham.
  10. What a diabolical day. ...might try to make it up on the evening games tonight.
  11. Think Forest will win 1-0 and WBA will win 3-1.
  12. Congratulations on an excellent result. With any luck, the other two will drop points but unfortunately I can't see it. But still, a stellar result (and performance I assume).
  13. Or even worse, draw. If it's not to be, I hope the team that fails me doesn't get a draw, but gets arseholed. Talking of Villarreal, I was wishing a similar fate on them last weekend once it soon became apparent, 10 minutes to go and 1-0 down they would struggle to score in a brothel. Incompetent fuckers. [/disproportionate].
  14. Absolute rubbish. Right-oh. I personally think their recent run (including, as I've already mentioned, a great deal of bad luck going against you in that game) has rattled a few cages, including yours. You didn't even know anything about the penalty tonight but didn't wait to label them "cheating effing C's". They have been there and there abouts all season and were always going to be contenders so why would we be sudeenly rattled by their presence? And I didn't call them 'cheating effing C's' I called them 'f***ing dirty bastards'. I'm sure you'd be pointing it out if say Liverpool had recently benfited from a flurry of penalty decisions. My point is, that level of resentment is coming about more down to the decreased gap you hold over 3rd, and Newcastle's own little wobble. f*** it. (We don't really have Liverpool breathing down our necks for the title like). To be honest before the two West Brom games most on here wanted them to go up with us. After the two matches in which they kicked our players off the pitch and being aided by referee decisions there's justly a backlash on here against them. Fwiw, in the first one I'm pretty sure Jonas induced at least one yellow card by flinging himself to the ground. I can't talk about their other games this season.

  16. Follow my weekend tips Rich, and you could spunk your profit away like never before! I'll keep my eyes open mate. Got to be honest I'm tempted just to start sticking the total on "1 goal or more", as you usually get odds of about 1.15 on Betfair. Sounds a decent idea, you'll no doubt get profits in the long run. Personally, I was actually on a decent run until the weekend - going to stick a £15/£20 double on on Saturday and if it doesn't come off, cry.
  17. It's down to the FA cup game and the fact that we don't get penalties even when they're blatant. I don't blame you for holding some form of resentment towards them after that shambolic game (Clattenburg would have been proud of the standard of officiating). But I doubt it would be nearly as strong if you still had more of a gap. You can't argue 4 penalties in 4 games, seems just slightly weird? Even if they were 4 stone walls it's just an odd stat. Definitely a bit of an odd stat, yep.

  21. Not good enough to go down (if we assume there's some sort of vague 'good enough' level). Despite their ridiculous over-reliance on Bent, even his goals haven't prevented their awful recent form. I feel sorry for him at times, the 'service' he got at Goodison for example was pathetic. First impressions would tell you there are 'worse' teams on paper but strange things happen. They are in big trouble if they don't beat Wigan. My instinct though is they will stay up, via a couple of unexpected victories which will give them the confidence to scramble enough points together. The fact is though, around a £30m net spend last summer, and they have less points at this stage than they did last year. This season, despite wins over Liverpool and Arsenal, has been a definite failure so far for the Mackems.
