  1. Moyes is an absolute crackhead. he's been shown up as an absolute amateur. This was a great chance to get money that was way over what Lescott was worth and hence been able to invest it all in the team and he has blown it completely. When you consider Everton don't have much money either it really is insane. Man City were desperate and Everton could have probably even got one of Dunne, Kompany, Zabaleta or Onuoha in return along with some money. This summer we've seen Wenger allow Toure and Adebayor to leave when the money got silly and we've even seen Ronaldo been allowed to leave when the money got silly. It's freakin' Joleon Lescott for crying out loud! £20 million! Epic fail Moyes. It's probably the first major thing he's done in 7 and a half years that I entirely disagree with, and think has been handled foolishly.
  2. It's strange because when it comes to it, I think most fans would welcome him back into the team, providing his attitude was right. He did things above board, and didn't (publically) slag off the club. Still will be difficult though.
  3. Congratulations David, for screwing us out of an easy £20m (or in other words, apparently £15m and Taylor). Would like to see where transfer funds will come from now.

    Potential loanees

Any good Neil? Seems to be following a similar sort of path as Ranger. Think he's 17 now, and people seem to be having very high hopes of him. A full season of playing at a competitive level may be just what he needs, coupled with breaking into the U19s, which I think will be a matter of time.
  5. Very true. Neil - may I ask what an Everton fan is doing as moderator on a Newcastle fanzine, when Everton forums actively ban non-Everton fans from posting on theirs ? (Voice of experience from me) Didn't realize until seeing some of your posts on everton - their games, etc. As far as I know I'm not a moderator... As well as Newcastle being a pretty firm second team, and also having a canny amount of connections with the place generally, I come on here more than Everton forums because generally, I encounter a ridiculous amount of mongs on them, who can't articulate a coherent sentence. I don't however really know why you or others have been banned from the forums. If it's for nothing but you being a non-Everton fan, then it's absolutely ridiculous. Edit: That said, if the moderators/admins of the forum are insistent on it being Everton-only, then that's their decision.
  6. Very true. Hibbert must be worse than shite in that case. Hibbert's much like Ameobi in that once in a while he'll have a decent game, be strong in the tackle and the guy hes up against will not get much success. 90% of the time, he's fucking woeful, and only specialises in hoofing the ball down the field to absolutely no-one.
  7. Robbed I tells ya. But to counter BONTEMPI, the point is we finished in the top 4.
  8. oh dear. Why oh dear, it's fact. Some people need to look up the meaning of fact. Your opinion is not (never in your case) fact. Ok when has everton ever been in the champions league? Never Fact I stated we would be back in the champions league before they ever would be no matter how long it takes us to sort ourselves out.
  9. To be honest i can't see either team ever getting into the Champs League prior to a Euro league being formed which will render the champs league redundant. I'd think, depending on which league we were in there would be more chance of us being invited to compete in such a league as well, based purely on geography / financial reasoning rather than squad / manager / ability / league position. Oh I'm not saying that we're gonna get CL and suddenly do well in it, not at all. We don't have the financial muscle to compete at that level, and that's the end of it until we get significantly increased investment. And your first comment is probably true as well. Non-footballing aspects would probably be taken into consideration more seriously rather than the footballing factors you've mentioned. Sad but true.
  10. Great gesture. He was their best ever manager so it makes sense. Aye but its what we should have done before now. Thing is there are other people in our history who should equally be recognised. I reckon naming the academy after him would be a much better tribute. Would be very very fitting Agreed Thats a good shout It would sum up the man. Always proud of his roots.
  11. Have a feeling this Banega hearing will end in a rejection. Not sure if he's the sort of player we need at the moment but my word, we need to add to the squad, so can't complain.
  12. One of the more down-to-earth refs who get on with things without trying to steal the show for himself. Best wishes to him, his wife and his family.
  13. Don't think he'll come. If you don't get promoted, he'll leave one way or another.
  14. Your playing against Olomouc, i bet even Tomas Brolin would have had a hattrick against them Quality strike tbh. Brolin may have got 2
  15. 4-0. Saha is such a quality player when he's fit.
  16. Were Jagielka or Lescott particularly England-standard before they came to us?
  17. 2-0 Rodwell. Straight down the middle and the keeper just left it.
  18. Is that worse than "awful, just awful"? About on par with that at the moment. Doesn't help our 3 (well, technically currently 4) best players are all not playing, but still. Total lack of options, pathetically slow movement, and poor passing. The good old days.
