I think a lot of teams have reinforced, but it's hard to tell whether they've improved due to managerial changes, player churn or the general quality of signing. Bringing Guehi in and Tonali returning should strengthen us, but who knows of it'll be enough.

Mitchell likes to do an "audit period" before he makes any changes at a club, which isn't uncommon in executive positions. I doubt he's had much input in this transfer window, especially as we're chasing pre-existing targets. We probably won't begin to see his influence until January. I don't think there's any evidence of tension behind the seasons, particularly as we've not diverted course on our transfer strategy.

If we sign Guehi, we've spent circa £110 million this window. Without selling they've maxed out again.

Don't think we'll ever find out how much he truly cost. We're briefing Forest would only take Anderson if he was included in the deal. It's almost certainly so they could bank an inflated amount of profit to help with PSR. Either way he was swapped for Anderson and cash, so didn't cost anything.

We haven't needed to. Last time I can recall is Bruno, Burn and Targett signing late in Jan 2022.
