To summarise: Chelsea's defence looks bad, ours looks worse. The ref has been so biased it hurts a little bit, I'm sorry but if Taylor touched that cross there would of been deviation in the ball. So oare people going to admit Taylor isn't good enough yet? -

Thinking about it, this would be an ideal oppertunity to introduce Santon. I really don't trust Taylor without Jonas in front of him. -

Interesting game, it's difficult to say how we'll line up wuthout Jonas. Sammy could be deplyed on the left. When he's come on as a sub he's provided plenty of cover for the full back. I doubt he can provide enough attacking threat up against Ivanovic on the other hand. Ben Arfa could be an option, but he'd provide little cover for Taylor, who's been exposed in recent games. I also think Ben Arfa could give Terry and Luiz a lot of problems deployed centrally. Mata will be Chelsea's biggest threat. Not only will he give Simpson plent of problems but he'll drift inside, the midfield will need to be aware of him floating in behind them. We also need to be aware of late runners: Ramires and Lampard run in from deep while Sturridge will cut in from the right. I really can't see us keeping a clean sheet. If I was going to make a bet it would be Chelsea+1. For a kick off I enjoy being a pessimist, but with this being a massive game for AVB and Tiote and Jonas absent for us I could see Chelsea nicking a result here. However we're playing too well to write us off, so I wouldn't rule out the draw. -
1) Why would we pretend Tiote is injured to aid us in selling him in January? 2) Why is Carroll being touted as an example when he was genuinly injured? Hence not playing for his new club for a while.

They'll finally get the attention they crave under O'Neill, the media more or less dry hump his leg.
-
He will, without doubt want a lot of cash to spend. Going by his track record he'll try to gather a British base of players, I think the likes of Onuoha, Muamba, Brown, Ireland and Cole are decent shouts (and yes I realise Ireland isn't British).
-
I honestly don't see what O'Neil could do with the current crop of players.
-
I'd like to know what he's basing this on.
-
as annoying as this, if Tiote was back I'd feel slightly guilty dropping Guthrie given how well he's played.
-
Has he got the job then or is he favourite? Just got in.

Kazan/PAOK draw seems a decent shout. -
I usually don't like being wrong, but sometimes it's fucking sweet.
-
How? If City/Liverpool win the final and qualify for Europe which is highly likely, does the runner up not get it?
-
There's one Euro spot down.
-
Man City should be laughing their tits off, only chance of an upset is Liverpool turning them over in a one off game.
-
So he spoke in broken Dutch at Twente, broken German at Wolfsburg, what would he do in the mackem press conference? 'Ere Sunderland are a fuckin' massive club with a fuckin' mint team on paper and north east top dogs and that. We're going to do the fuckin' daft mag c***s, 9-1, 9-1, 9-1. Am off home for a bag of chips and to shag me sister, 9-1, 9-1, 9-1.'

They're trying to mould him into a defensive midfielder, it's not his natural position. The point I was tying to make is we may get outnumbered in the middle, especially if Mata starts roaming. -

While Chelsea look weakened at the back it's their midfield that worries me. Tiote and Cabaye will be up against Mikel, Ramires and Lampard and could easily become isolated, Mata will also drift inside and cause problems. That's before you consider the threat he and Sturridge will pose from out wide. -

I'd still take a draw like.
