Newcastle United vs. Liverpool: 27/08/23 @ 16:30 (Sky Sports)
Geordie Ahmed replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
This is the one game I want to win more than any other, it's so annoying that they were the only team to do the double over us as well as the way in which we lost at Anfield Plus the added factor of Klopp being a massive scumbag Whilst I'm usually all for a fast start we have to be mindful with Liverpool, we started better in the home game but they scored with their first attack. We still created some decent chances even though most of the game was played with 10 men. I think a controlled start and avoiding conceding early would probably be the best approach Though, no doubt once the game starts I'll be screaming for a 100mph start and just attack them -
The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)

On the subject of league position, you ultimately finish where you deserved to finish however the devil can very much be in the detail I find solely looking at league position doesn't always tell you the full story, goal difference is a big indicator and Man-U had a goal difference that was inferior to the team above them by 30 and then team below them by 20 It's not too dissimilar to when we finished 5th, our GD wasn't great and was more similar to a mid table side That's not to say Man-U won't do well this season but they'll have to improve to do so, you don't tend to get back to back seasons where you have a lower GD and you maintain both that and the league position. Onana is quality but as a team they don't look comfortable playing out from the back, so that needs addressing and obviously they need their striker back asap because Rashford needs to be moved to the left -
Doylem moment from Aguerd Now they'll get bombarded for the final 30 mins

I don't think Diaby is the answer at thus moment in time Yes, he's better than Miggy going forward but he doesn't offer the same defensive support and at the moment we need that The final part of his game was off today but it's one game, that too against the best side in the league, I'm sure Miggy will be fine this season
-
Aye, reckon he would have came on for Miggy a lot earlier as it was clear his final pass/cross/shot wasn't it today

Dislocated shoulder?

Nice one, Man-U losing

Man-U have been the better team with the better chances I'd take a 0-0

Crazy that Conte barely used Bissouma

Some cross from Bruno Fernandes that
-
Be surprised if they overturn it, whilst I don't think it was a red it was hardly a howler
-
Yeah, that's a harsh red card but not going to complain as it means he misses our game Having said that, once the on field ref gave it not sure there was enough to overturn it
-
Damn, had to pause episode 3 and run an errand, finished that but can't play episode 4, gutted
-
Howe before the Man-U game

Not sure if it's meant to be but Episode 3 and 4 are on Amazon and can be played

Man-U have made an absolute mess of this situation I think they were probably expecting the court to sort the situation, him be convicted and they can then dump him without worrying about any financial implications However, the moment the charges were dropped they had a decision to make and a club of their size the correct stance would have been to dump him and deal with any consequences, he takes them to court? So what, they piss money up the wall on signings, I'm sure they could handle him If anything, if they dumped him he would have quietly disappeared off abroad, after being dumped by Man-U there isn't a club that takes him on Instead, they've tried to get him back cos he's talented but have misjudged the entire situation And now they'll dump him anyway but they'll have done it not because it was the right thing to do but because they'll have gotten grief from "hostile" parties
-
US Presidents are far worse than MBS but that's a separate discussion. Him attending a game would just be asking for trouble though, don't see a single benefit to it whilst the grief we as a club would get would be enormous. Whilst I don't give a shit what others think I wouldn't want Eddie or the players being asked about MBS attending a game instead of being asked about football.

I don't think it's ever only a Wednesday or Tuesday, usually a mixture of both -
Can't wait until next week now, was hoping the Man-U game was squeezed into this episode
