  1. Yeah - nothing more scary than Newcastle fans. Just look at how they hounded out Mike Ashley (after 14 years) and Steve Bruce (after 3 years and an 8 million pound pay off).
  2. Yep. If he stays there'll also be a very hearty sprinkling of Paul Mitchell blame as well in the inevitable articles... "whilst he still feels like promises were broken, he also acknowledges this came from the actions of the previous hierarchy"
  3. They never strike in January. And next summer is fine. Gives the club 10 months to get Player 2 to enter the game and show some interest, as well as gives us another 10 months of Isak doing his thing. If you cave because of hurt feelings, kiss goodbye to Tonali and Livramento in 12 months.
  4. There are also no examples of players in this tier (or even in the tiers below) actually maintaining their strike past the transfer window closing.
  5. I'm sure the decision makers for the club with the final say, people who run a Sovereign Wealth Fund with a Trillion Dollars in AUM, are going to wet themselves and roll over like a puppy at that ploy... especially when they now have 36 hours notice of this alleged plan.
  6. What do you mean? What could be the long term repercussions of openly advertising to clubs that all they need to do is cause a bit of a stink via Twitter shills.. sorry, "journalists" and we'll cave on selling our best players at a favourable price. No way the likes of Real Madrid or PSG going for Tonali in 12 months time would ever read anything into that.
  7. 15 years of people gagging to give their money to Mike Ashley says otherwise. Players have literally threatened to sue their clubs during transfer dramas and come back with no issues from the crowd once they started putting the ball back in the net.
  8. There are zero examples of a player keeping their strike going past the end of a transfer window. The closest is Tevez, but his little drama started post the window and was an on field falling out. Either one of the selling or buying team caves on the price or the want away player comes back and plays as well as normal, as if it never happened.
  9. Tbf those two scenarios are the exact model the club is following. Like a toddler throwing a tantrum, don't antagonise or escalate, just politely but firmly wait it all out until they have no choice but to behave again. We've released the one statement as needed, other than that Eddie has been consistent in playing the whole thing with a straight bat whenever he is pressed, with the players disciplined in their response.
  10. He has plenty, just like all of the other similar toxic transfer sagas that reached this stage and never got resolved.
  11. I seem to recall you trotting out this line when we signed Isak. #awks
  12. 0 chance. Newcastle he is fairly well indulged and is running the show re: the squad. As dysfunctional as NUFC is do you really think he wants to trade that for a significantly worse squad, a fan base with expectations stuck in 1999 and Jim Ratcliffe overuling him? The big risk is England next year.
  13. Unless there is a Wissa change of heart by Brentford, no chance. We'd still be one clumsy defenders leg away from Gordon at striker again. Plus Howe likes to take his time to bed the forrins in properly.
  14. My only fear is that we weren't respectful and lodged the bid before Stuttgart invited us.
  15. Why would we? Getting some game time will speed up the reintegration process once the window shuts.
  16. For a loan fee, sure. But what about the permanent transfer fee in 12 months time.
  17. All whilst jacking themselves silly still for ultimately getting the full 142 million for Coutinho eight years ago... which they achieved by telling Barcelona to fuck off for 6 straight months and strong arming the player to end his strike for the interim. In the name of fairness I'm happy to take that deal, add 8 years of transfer market inflation and shake on it.
  18. He has all the attributes to be one of Howe's favourite foot soliders in terms of his play style... but he is an absolute headcase, and not in the Bruno "will literally take a bullet for you because you leant him 50p once back in Primary School" kind of way that is ultimately good for a team.
  19. No chance. The club have higher ambitions than 9th and a tight race for a Conference League spot.
  20. Was a nice touch by Shepard to point a pistol at Owen's head each week when he deposited another 100k in his bank account
  21. So how does him scoring two penalties in games 34 and 35 (the second which secured a draw in injury time) factor into this theory? He could've sent them to the moon Beckham style or easily telegraphed which direction to the keeper.
  22. Yeah, all the examples/articles have the Loyalty bonus as a fixed amount paid over the life over the contract and separate to the base salary. If Isaks agent negotiated half his deal as a bonus that relied on him not leaving for 5 years, he should be getting a new one yesterday
  23. Tbf the last time the Mackems had this kind of saga was Gyan... and they let him go for the price they paid in the end.
