Having an enforced 6 week break during the middle of the season also helped last year. It was pretty clear it wouldn't be sustainable in the long run I don't usually like looking back on past players and he definitely would have got injured during this run but a player like ASM would have at least provided a bit of flair to our game

Plenty were saying we didn't need creative players like Maddison because they don't have the energy for our game yet it's clear as day we've got so little creativity and we weren't just going to be able to outrun teams every week
