If I had bothered to put any effort into setting this thread up this is the course I would have steered it towards. Being quiet lazy with this, I opted against it safe in the knowledge that - ignoring all the simpletons who instantly dismissed the debate - it would eventually come up.
I genuinely believe that this player swap makes us much stronger. The reason, as has been said: balance. There was an article a while back that discussed how the better teams attacked evenly across the width of the pitch. Play can go down the left or the right at will, which is something that with Simpson we couldn't do, as his ridiculously limited game hinders any incisive build up play. With a better right back, we can go down both sides and therefore should create more opportunities. Also, Cisse is no mug.
