  1. Why’s it rank hypocrisy? Genuine question - I don’t know if he’s anti-royal, or had spoken up against the honours system.
  2. What an absolute fucking belter that Maguire pen was, mind. Would also like to have a quiet chat with the ref after that tackle on Grealish under his nose.
  3. Was screaming at the telly when he did that one in Extra time on the edge.
  4. Yeah, he was gassed towards the end too. Saka was dangerous but made some poor choices. Wish Foden had been available.
  5. Rashford? Donnarumma went in completely the wrong direction. I actually thought Rashford had nailed it, he ended up giving himself most of the goal to aim at. Then he fucked it.
  6. if I was Italian the first thing I’d do would be stand on his foot at a corner. Can see him totally losing his shit.
  7. I’m at Cedar Point sweltering in the heat. Nervous as fuck.
  8. Nice goal by US women’s team.
  9. Then Villa? (I wonder to myself)
  10. i agree with both of you tbh. There’s a tendency for people to see one or two glaring mistakes (or great bits of play) in a game and make their summing up based on that and not what happened in between. I think Walker’s been one of England’s better players throughout because his experience has shone through and his ability to cover for others (and himself) has been quietly effective. That said, distribution and creativity/decision-making going forward has never been his strong point. That’s why his position on the right of three fits him well. I think he and his coaches have recognized his limitations. His effectiveness as an attacking RB relies on his pace and athleticism. He will almost always play it safe when he has the ball, and since the movement ahead of him has often been uninspiring that’s why we’ve seen him playing it sideways and backwards or occasionally getting caught out. Trippier offers something very different - rather have him going forward, rather have Walker going backwards. Feels like deja vu for me tbh.
  11. I would like to face them, please.

The purple person has their head in their hands in the run-up though
  13. My wife thinks he may be the dumbest person she has ever met.

Ace. Big fan of the purple-shirted Englishperson in the bottom left.
  15. Most predictable free kick outcome ever.
  16. I’m mainly looking forward to the inevitable punch-up now.
  17. Got deceived by the swerve - should have done better.
  18. Any chance people will sue or did they cover their arses?
  19. I feel like I’ve heard this a lot on here. I’ve avoided commenting because I’m trying to steer clear of club football as much as possible. I feel like it’s still worth pointing out that Spurs haven’t finished as low as seventh since 2009, and have been in the top four more often than not since then. Nobody “belongs” anywhere. I don’t know how old you are but sure, 20 years ago we were midtable. 40 years ago, when I was a kid, Newcastle were a shit midtable team in Division Two. Doesn’t mean I think you belong there, or that you’re not a big club. It’s just lazy nonsense.
  20. Also, there have been very few moments in the last 12.5 years when I’ve really missed being in England, and this is definitely one.
  21. How often do we actually get an early goal or two on the board? Genuine question, because confirmation bias tells me that we always start great but rarely take advantage.
  22. Feels like I’ve been saying essentially the same thing about England for about 40 years. Only the names change.
