  1. would rather see villa win. Absolutely, but there's not a cat in hell's chance of that happening. Played well against Arsenal. Might also get the vast quantities of bad refereeing karma that Stoke accumulated against us /sourgrapes.
  2. Might save RAWK for a few minutes, let them ripen and mature.
  3. Can't really ask for more than Chelsea and Liverpool drawing at home against Fulham and Blackburn. Wish Arsenal would stop winning. Still, it's: Spurs P 16 Pts 35 Chelsea P 18 Pts 34 Arsenal P 17 Pts 32 Liverpool P 18 Pts 31 Newcastle P 18 Pts 30 Looks pretty good.
  4. It's nice to have Willo back instead of Perch EDIT: Wigan are down to 10 men. Yeah, don't think it counts as a rampage if you're strolling about.
  5. Are you watching the game? If so, should Evans have been given a red for that challenge earlier? Not that I can complain mind, if Liverpool and City stay as they are today then those are some cracking scores for us. Think yellow was allright for Evans. Red for Sammon though, can't get my head round that. Stupid decision. Cheers.

  7. Three games on today; one League Two, one Championship, one Premier League. How?! How are we getting all the games, and you aren't? There's rules governing the TV games. For example, you can't show the 3pm Sat kick-offs in England, whereas we always get one at 10am here (similar to the blackout principle - they don't want to jeopardise ticket sales). There are also obligations to show everyone a certain amount of times, so the money gets spread out a bit more. They will still get more of Man U and Man City, but Sky have to find space for so many Stoke games a year. I think there are also specifications on the total amount of games played (Sky buy the rights to show, say, 60 or so games a season). It's infinitely preferable to Spain, where Barca and Real Madrid get massively more money than anyone else. If you look at our games in the US too, I think we see a little too much of, say, Liverpool. Just look at MLS, where last year, my team Columbus Crew had been in the Final the previous year yet were only scheduled to be televised once. One game. Of course, Galaxy and Red Bulls were on almost every week. The problem is, you then get people complaining when you have Stoke v Villa on Boxing Day. You've got to have them on at some point, and Sky probably figure that people will watch anything on Boxing Day to get away from the kids/wife/Aunt Ethel. I'd much rather have a more equitable distribution of money, and have a variety of games. We clearly don't give a s*** about that rule. It must be awesome to be a Man U fan in the states. they're on every week. Outstanding post, btw. No, we don't give a shit here. Actually, you should understand how incredibly happy I was when I first moved here that I got a game at 7.15, then one at 10am, then another at 12.45 on Saturday. Three full games before 3pm on a Saturday? I don't think I even got out of bed that first Saturday.
  8. That's an old school terrible tackle.

  10. Scoring that very early goal helped big time for them I'd imagine. Certainly did, was a really soft one. Fulham not looking at all confident, wonder if Schwarzer being out is part of it.
  11. Slightly naughty from Dempsey to take out Jones. I hate those challenges. Fuck, there we go, 1-0, so easy.
  12. Beautifully timed response to '69, Neil.
  13. One wonders if such a statement be released if it was a lower profile player , i.e Potato Spearing. Or, as has been mentioned before, that keeper who...smiled.
  14. That's really, really good.
  15. Oh I do hope so. It's us, then Man U next (er, I guess).
  16. I think his attitude off the pitch is good too. He could have stayed with us as a squad player (I'd have been happy) but wanted to play. I'm a little surprised nobody has said VDV. He just reminds me of a classy park player, so aware of everything around him and a magic left foot. Plus a bit of attitude, does what he wants on the pitch and rarely finishes a game. I can easily see him going down the pub after the game for a fag and a beer. And a spliff. BAE would be my favourite, but I'm disqualified from picking him. For the footy, it has to be Silva. I love Berbatov and Carrick for the languid grace, hate RVP because he's Arsenal (and a bit of a twat). Like Fletcher at Wolves and Holden at Bolton for cleverness, Yaya Toure for being just fantastic.
  17. Kaboul got sent off for even less than that!
  18. Stoke getting the ref I wish we'd had last week, instead of Chris Hoy *cough*.
  19. Stoke getting the ref I wish we'd had last week, instead of Chris Hoy *cough*. Edit: SOrry, wrong thread
  20. Cheers. Was just about to ask you guys about it.
  21. Am I the only person looking forward to the levels of bullshit?
  22. The steel in our side (bar Cabaye) has pretty much been systematically stripped out. Not sure what people were expecting. It was perhaps the most predictable match of the season. We showed superior footballing skill and finesse, but lacked any strength to compete. Take the top three centre backs out of any club in the Premiership, then send them to deal with Holt and co - good luck keeping that clean sheet. I beg to differ. No Sandro or Parker, too. More like no Parker or Huddlestone. That leaves Modric and Sandro.
