Barely worthy of a thread on a Spurs board tbf. Nobody cares any more. Belting bit of business by Levy that. Considered by many to be our worst bit of business of all time. I think they're forgetting he actually did a good back-up job when we got fourth, plus that cracking goal against Arsenal, plus some good bit-part work on the way to winning the League Cup. No, still our worst bit of business of all time.

I love people using it, because every time it is aired it is exposed as a nonsense.

Yeah, I wondered this too. Red Sox have been hilarious this last week. More of the same at Anfield, please.

Huddlestone won't be on the bench, he's out for a while. Not convinced we'll see Dawson on the bench either. I can see us lining up as you think, if Lennon is fit, but would still rather play that sort of 4-2-3-1 we started with against Wigan. If Sandro is fit, that's him and Parker in the middle with Bale, VDV and Modric behind Defoe (Ade if fit). I like the idea of bringing on Lennon for VDV with twenty minutes to go, to run at Taylor. Pav and Defoe up front is just so depressingly mediocre.

Rip up the track? Of course, that's what we've said all along - that that is the only solution that avoids it becoming a white elephant. Thing is, we were up front about it, whereas I'd wager West Ham were hoping to get their foot in the door then rip it up a couple of years down the line. The new deal seems to make it less likely that they'lll do that. Doesn't help Orient out much though.
-
Not exactly - that's the headline but it looks like they'll be able to rent it for 2M a year. At least they won't own it, or be able to rip up the track. I hope.

Being said that he pulled out of the under 21's but will play on Sunday. Not such a good idea imo, his mind will be elsewhere and Charlie is a better defender anyway. Quite fancied Walker vs Ryan Taylor tbh. I think you're right, would be a nice gesture if they told him to just worry about his family for this week.
-
Walker may miss the game too - his other half's expecting.
-
Pienaar - suits us.

I thought you'd be happy

Just a heads-up, Sandro misses Brazil games this week with a calf injury, plus the word is Adebayor has picked up a hamstring problem. Bad for us.

i'd pick Ben Foster , Robert Green , Fraser Forster or Norwich keeper John Ruddy than those two Foster is apparently out of the reckoning, Robert Green hasn't exactly been the best for England, has he, and I am deeply unconvinced by Forster. Ruddy might well be worth a shout. I'd like to know how Carson has been doing at Bursaspor, anyone know? Point is, they're really all much of a muchness, so I can't get too agitated about it.

Have to say, I can't get too upset about the squad. Sure, you can pick on form, but isn't that why Parker and Zamora are in there? If you picked totally on form, chances are you'd have a completely different squad each time. That would be a nightmare to work with. The squad is more a reflection on how limited the options are. Who exactly would people have in CM instead of Parker, Barry or Lampard? Which goalkeepers should be picked? Steven Taylor has done well, but has been playing with a team on form, alongside a classy centerback, against weaker opposition. Cahill has been in exactly the opposite position. I'd say Agbonlahor is unlucky because he can play both out wide and up front. There are a lot of blunt instruments up front in that squad. Other than that, can't see Capello has much to work with.

That team is the one most of us want, and today only reinforced that. We started like that against Wigan, and barely gave them a kick until we lost concentration at the beginning of the second half. In theory, Bale, VDV and Modric interchange throughout. Sandro and Parker break up oppo attacks and cover for the full backs. We've only really tried it properly against Wigan though - 'arry can't seem to bring himself to drop Defoe. The 442 with Defoe worked against Liverpool, but they got their team completely wrong and then got Adam sent off. Worked at Wolves, but it took us an age to break them down. We just seem way more fragile when playing 442 with VDV on the right. Look at today. Modric and Parker were overrun in midfield as Arsenal had an extra man. We still made more clear-cut opportunities, but I think we now have the players to keep the ball far better than we did today, better even than Arsenal. 451 allows us to do that. If we line up with KD's formation against youse, I would be confident of getting a result. If we line up with the Arsenal game's formation, it makes me feel far less confident.

Great. Sell him to PSG for all that money they offered, and we can pay for Adebayor's wages.
-
Only two members of the Top Four still to play. /shamelesstoadying.

Well that was good for several reasons. Won the game without playing well, and still made more clear-cut chances than Arsenal. The game was the best argument yet for avoiding 442 with Defoe - I'd hope to see the same team start against yourselves that started against Wigan. Pointed up the folly of playing VDV in a 442 in midfield, it just leaves you far too open. Six games played so far, including Man U, Man City, Liverpool and the Arse, and two away games at places we usually screw up. 12 points from that little lot is way more than I'd expected. We can definitely play better, but 451 looks more and more like our best option. the game in a fortnight will be fascinating.

My wife has interviewed him. She reckons he's the....least bright....person she's ever met.

I'm torn. Part of me would have liked us to have signed Suarez because he's great, but honestly, he's such an utter cunt I don't think it's worth it.
-
Commentator here said "What do we make of that then" about Suarez and Jagielka. Was dying for Mcmanamanaman to just say "Suarez is a cunt".
-
Come on Everton, hold it together.
-
Fight! Fight! Fight! Hope it kicks off big time now. I would love someone to go through Suarez knee high and break both his legs. "There you go, try diving now". Saving grace is that it might just make people hate Liverpool a tiny nit more.

Ironically just started to watch the "fail" compilation in the Chat thread. That really shouldn't be a red, I'd be fucking livid if that was a Spurs player. Not convinced it should even be a booking, though will have to see it again. Either way, nobody should ever get a red for kicking Suarez. A medal, maybe.
