Yep. A mid-table finish this season and I think we'd have the pulling power again to attract players to at least be where Everton & Villa have been in the next 2-3 years. There's a lot of money needed to reinforce the squad, but Carroll's looking more and more like the player you build a team around. He's exactly the player that both Villa and Everton would kill for. We'd find him pretty useful too. I just fear for you if injuries start kicking in. Us and Villa each have 11 injuries now. Can you imagine what your first team would look like in those conditions? It was scary enough when Tiote and Barton were missing.

Injuries are the key, obviously. We've had unbelievably bad luck yet again with injuries (walking away with the physioroom title) but have the squad to cope (just). Villa have swapped with Everton this season, and their depth has been seriously tested. You guys are in a similar boat, first XI is probably top ten, but after that it gets a bit dodgy. I'll go with 12-14, I think you'll pick at least one useful signing up in Jan.

If they post a serious bid it will save everyone else in the world a lot of money. No competition. Plus that's three WCs in a row (arguably four) where the local press are emasculated. -
Fanni shits all over him. Divided by a common language...
-
Jesus. I've never even heard of that happening.
-
Is that guy with no gloves and short-sleeves playing?
-
They will get Fanni someway or another. Does he have brothers? Are there any more Fannis?

Don't bother. Although they did just show the Donovan goal against Algeria! -

I like that he keeps referring to Mr Sepp Bladder. Here comes Barack... -

Bizarre. Just got in, switched on Fox Soccer and Morgan Freeman was on, apparently playing Nelson Mandela. That's what it looked like anyway. "I'm sorry, I missed a page". Nice work Morgan, that's the bid scuppered. -
Best performance of the season from them I reckon, even better than the Chelsea game. Bodes well for Roy if they can keep it up, but an injury to Torres and he's screwed again.

Glad I no longer have to deal with this, because it used to boil my piss too.
-
Crouch has been getting the Carroll treatment from the refs... ...oooh. Who on earth is going to take this?
-
But it's not long ball when it's Liverpool - it's just direct. It was only a free kick mind. Put it in the mixer etc.

Stoke City special.

It is for people with their swear filter turned on. Excellent. The world is safe in your hands.

Also thought that b******s would be bleeped. Sorry kids.
-
B******s. Thought that was in.

Cracking game this though. I just wish I could be more confident about our defending. It's such an open game. And that's a bit dodgy from Carragher tbh.

As far as I can see, it's just the media (Sky) grasping onto Redknapp's comments about how the club could be challenging within a couple of years, and now combined with other teams' weaknesses at the top, making them out to be the DARK HORSES for the title. That's just it, build em up and knock em down. I detest the way we've been built up as title challengers too, but it's Sky I'm pissed off at. Lazy.

I wouldn't be too sure about Liverpool - a win puts them above us, and sadly I think they will be there or thereabouts this year.
-
They'll be fine come the weekend. Wise words. Who do you guys want to win this arvo? Or is it the draw/several injuries/red cards galore?
-
Funny you should say that. I'm trying to avoid doing work, so I picked a few teams and looked at their third round draws over the last 5 years. All pretty run-of-the-mill (lots of home draws for Sunderland, lots of away draws for Newcastle) but the Chelsea draws look suss!: Spurs H Champ H Prem H Prem A Champ A Champ Newcastle A Champ A Prem A Champ A Champ H League 2 Everton H Lgue 1 A Lgue 2 H Lgue 1 H Prem A Champ Villa H Prem A Lgue 2 H Prem A Prem A Champ Arse A Prem H Champ A Champ A Prem H Champ Chels H Champ H Lgue 1 H Champ H Lgue 2 H Lgue 1 Man U H Lgue 1 A Champ A Prem H Prem A Non-league Sunderland H Non-l H Prem H Prem A Champ H Non-league Man C A Champ H Champ A Prem A Champ H League 1 Liverpool H Champ A Champ A Lgue 1 H Prem A Champ All at home and no Prem sides?

I miss Berbatov. We'd have been fantastic with him over the last two years.

This could get really horrible if they keep going.
