Gerrard was out against us though, and I thought they were really good. Best I've seen them for a couple of years, and they should at least have got a point. Thing is, it's going to be such a completely bonkers atmosphere that anything could happen.

Nil. Quit raining fat let downs on my parade.

Only just got in and heard. I love Jol, actually love him. What odds him hiring Hughton as no2 as well!?
-
First thing I thought. Couldn't for one second imagine him leaving, right up to Hughton being sacked. All bets are off now.

Go on lads, turn them over.

Absolutely. You can build a team around him. There really aren't that many players you can say that about, and certainly not many "homegrown" players. The general opinion at the time we sold Berbatov was that Levy had done really well in getting 30M. Likewise Keane for 20M (which really was nuts). The problem was, that crippled our forward line and although we got Modric in, the rest of the money went on people like Pav. Of course, Berbs wanted to go, but if (for argument's sake) he'd stayed and the Keane money had got Modric, what a team we'd be.

Do you still have nightmares about the 2 games where he ripped your team a new arsehole btw? If the amount of extremely good games Bale has had gives you a price of m45£ then should get m100£ for Carroll who has been far more consistent then Bale this year and has played for a far more superior national team. Dr. Evil ransom money that ffs Money paid isn't solely based on the ability of a player though. Selling Bale now would say a lot for Spurs' ambition. You could argue that 45M would buy a couple of great players, but the wages would be greater and would they want to come? You take Carroll as an example because you think he's been more consistent (really?) and played for a superior national team (Giggs? Best?) while ignoring the one reason that he would be worth a nuts amount of money - his specific worth to Newcastle. Selling Carroll would have a greater impact on Newcastle, not because he's better than Bale but because he looks like being the real deal, and most of those around him aren't. He's a young local boy who's good enough to build a team around for the next several years.

How slow is Cole now?

This season, because everyone's so tightly bunched, I think I've wanted a draw in almost every game.
-
Always looked like League 1 was at least a step down for him, maybe two.
-
Missed opportunity today, should have had it won by half time. Really should cut and paste the above phrase for games against the bottom half.
-
Brilliant, sadly. Two fantastic goals from him today. Both jinking little runs.
-
I don't think Cahill meant that, but it looks nasty for Cech.
-
And again. Everton playing really well now.
-
Bloody hell, Everton should have scored. Thought that was in.
-
That's why I thought it funny, cos I'd have said exactly the same if it was Spurs. Yet Howard really does just hold his ground.
-
It's a funny one, that. I would argue that Howard just stood his ground.
-
Sounds like we should have put them away by now though.
-
That's beautifully done by Dempsey. Arsenal should be out of sight already, the bottled water will fly.
-
I like that it still exists, particularly for lower division teams whose attendances might just suffer. That said, I'm watching two games simultaneously here in the US, so I'm all right Jack.
-
WP Nasri yet again. Arsenal pissing this.

Robinho knows kung-fu man. Not much use when the other guy can eat your fists.

No Guardiola is fairly nuts. Not the best choice of full-backs either. LM is a good punch-up, but the real question is - Ronaldo or Kuyt? Tough one.

Yep. A mid-table finish this season and I think we'd have the pulling power again to attract players to at least be where Everton & Villa have been in the next 2-3 years. There's a lot of money needed to reinforce the squad, but Carroll's looking more and more like the player you build a team around. He's exactly the player that both Villa and Everton would kill for. We'd find him pretty useful too. I just fear for you if injuries start kicking in. Us and Villa each have 11 injuries now. Can you imagine what your first team would look like in those conditions? It was scary enough when Tiote and Barton were missing. It's not like its 11 first teamers for Spurs though. Woodgate and King permanently injured and shouldn't be relied upon by anyone; dos Santos, Keane, Bentley, O'Hara, and even Jenas to an extent, aren't really first teamers. Through a combination of injury and suspension we've recently had out: Ben Arfa, Nolan, Tiote, Williamson, Coloccini, Barton, Harper and you may as well include Gosling and Ryan Taylor if you can include the likes of Woodgate. It's not a competition!! I'm just illustrating how easily and quickly you can have 7 or so injuries/suspensions, and that if Ashley doesn't reinforce a couple of positions in Jan things could get messy. Smith and Nolan in CM looked scary.
