Helps if you get more penalties in half an hour than we’ve been awarded all season.

I’ve watched you sporadically this season so can’t really comment but I do wonder if this thread mirrors ours about Son. Like, he’s forced to play a ton of games and everyone says he’s finished, then he gets a rest, has a great game and everyone says “his minutes just need managing”. Then he has a bad game and “he’s finished” again. Schar doesn’t have all the international travelling Son has to do but Botman’s ongoing problems mean he has to play far more minutes than you’d like. Only Gordon and Bruno played more games for you last year and at Schar’s age you just can’t keep doing that. Seems to me he’d be a great backup CB next year. You just really need two younger CBs if Botman is going to miss so much time - everyone else is the wrong side of 30, no? Schär, Lascelles, Krafth, Burn. That’s not sustainable.

Can’t remember which game it was but it was a recent one where I spent a while wondered who the numpty with the Scottish accent was and was genuinely surprised when I realized it was McCoist. He’d been terrible.

That’s only part of the story. The top four or so teams essentially accumulate all the best talent and are currently in a league of their own. I think somebody said we have five wins and a draw against the teams below us and just one point against the teams above us. It’s going to take a long time for that to change.

You should see the Spurs stadium. Seriously, the tour is mental - coming from somebody who as a kid used to train in the ball court behind the West Stand. They kept the home and away dressing rooms fairly similar so it would be better balanced for European finals etc.

I can only presume you haven’t seen the replay angle where he lines the guy up and strikes him. Genuinely nonplussed at this take.

That’s it for me. In real time and from a distance it was hard to tell. The close-up is just a blatant red. I initially thought it was a push in a back, but he really does just kinda twat him in the head.

If changing the rule reminds refs they’re supposed to be doing their job, I’m all for it.
-
Yeah it’s because Man U wanted their keeper to be allowed to retrieve the ball from the back of the net and pretend it didn’t go in

I don’t agree. Schumacher’s is far worse - Battiston had got to the ball miles before him and it was past him already. Schumacher just absolutely deliberately took Battiston out. In this case - is the Millwall keeper right-footed? If so, he comes out, awkwardly tries to kick the ball very high up with his wrong foot and actually makes contact before following through on Mateta’s face. Wildly dangerous and a clear red, but on the face of it I think not deliberate. As for the ref, I do have a little sympathy. Don’t know exactly the angle he saw it at, but I want refs to be very sure before giving somebody a red. Not a lot of sympathy though - it was about as dangerous as dangerous play gets.

Just saw Ipswich’s first goal

Who was that young kid you got off Man City a year or so ago? Edit: Just Googled, it was him then.
-
Me too, because that would mean he’d been great and we’d won lots of things. Not sure you’ve thought this through.

It really feels off that they’re making all these cuts while so many players are getting paid absolute fortunes. I guess they’re saving on win bonuses too.

Forgot this lanky cunt was there

Fucking boom.
-
Cracking game. I’d be hiding my scarf on the way home though
-
Great effort - minimal backlift.
-
Hamer walking a bit of a tightrope here.
-
Still feels like Meslier has one more rick in him.
-
Finally had real presence in the middle, committed one or two extra players forward and gave the CBs more to deal with.
-
I see nothing to change this opinion

Feel a bit like Luton 2 years ago at times. Big, strong, physical and effective.
-
Rodon has looked pretty classy.

Solomon needs to be more prepared to go left when taking on his opponent. The RM has clearly been told to track back more to help his RB. Sheff Utd feel like one of those sides where they always leave a foot in but also dive and whinge at every opportunity. Embodied by Brereton Diaz.
