lovely ball from Debuchy to open that situation up

Right, because of the amount of people he has criticized. Anytime someone criticizes another ofcourse people expect higher standards, let alone when they're paid to do it. If you're going to talk from a lofty position, its weak to back out because people might then expect you to back up that conviction. If you've to much self doubt to perform then dont argue with the performers surely.

He also stated that fatigue was a problem for certain players who played on a Thursday in Europe and rustiness for players who hadn't played on the same Thursday in the same game. Does that also make sense? Do you disagree that that makes sense? Fatigue if they'd played midweek and the opposition hasnt does also yes? The issue was him complaining about it when half the side hadnt played midweek. Rustyness doesnt nah. No reason to take the whole "ha he blamed europe again" to the other extreme of "Europe affects nowt atall". Participation obviously increases the seasons workload & focus on the league.

Personally found it really frustrating when Anita linked up play & then skinned a defender to set up Remy's decisive finish in the 90th against Chelsea. Why he was that far forwards ive no idea, he doesnt realise his own limitations obviously.

Except that Pards also stated that it affected preparation time for the following games which obviously makes sense. Id find it a bit laughable to suggest at this point Europe had nothing to do with last season, as often as it was used.

Hansens a joke if he said that like. Happy to critique players/managers where possible & earn a large amount doing so, but the poor guy might be expected to actually back it up with performance in an actual football role.

From that write up id say he knows us quite well tbf

Just a mentality thing for me, they dont deal well with expectation. The longer they go without scoring/creating clear chances against the supposed weaker sides the more frustration creeps in. At sunderland they've scored one goal & you have Cabaye flying into tackles, Tiote manhandling his marker & long shots coming in for the next 20 minutes. Wheres the composure? Similarly we barely ever get anything after conceding first, just to affecting for our players. Pardews doing well recently, but its his responsibility & its our main issue.

Wheyyy Chelsea

Brilliant result. 5 wins in 6 including Chelsea, Spurs & Man United. Man City would be happy with those wins, so have to give the manager lots of credit.

Pards on Hull game: "We started really, really well but then we dropped down a gear after our goal and that caused us problems for the rest of the game. Third gear is not enough in this league against any side.

Ive done a proper statty comparison of how games play out for us & our rivals depending on who has scored first in a game. As it should show quite a lot about each side. Only Prem + cup games & 0-0's taken out. Results Newcastle Everton Liverpool Tottenham We score first Score first Score first Score first West Brom (H) - win Man United (A) - win Norwich (H) - win Man United (H) - draw Norwich (H) - win Stoke (H) - win Fulham (H) - win Hull (H) - draw Tottenham (A) - win Aston Villa (A) - win West Brom (H) - win Hull (H) - win Chelsea (H) - win Hull (H) - win C Palace (H) - win Aston Villa (A) - win Liverpool (H) - draw Man City (A) - lose Sunderland (A) - win Chelsea (H) - draw Cardiff (A) - win Newcastle (H) - win Man United (H) - win Aston Villa (A) - win Leeds (H) - win Fulham (A) - lose Notts county(H)- win Cardiff (A) - win Hull (H) - lose Chelsea (H) - win Aston Villa (A) - win Norwich (H) - win Aston Villa (A) - win Stoke (H) - win Swansea (H) - win Fulham (H) - win Morecombe (A) - win They score first Opposition scores first Opposition scores first Opposition scores first Swansea (A) - lose Liverpool (A) - Draw Hull (A) - lose Fulham (A) - win Man City (A) - lose West Ham (A) - win Arsenal (A) - lose Man City (A) - lose Sunderland (H) - lose Stevenage (H) - win Newastle (A) - draw Newcastle (H) - lose Everton (A) - lose Norwich (A) - Draw Man United (A) - lose West Ham (H) - lose Man City (A) - lose Southampton (A) - lose Arsenal (A) - lose Swansea - draw Results Newcastle - We've taken the lead the most of the 4 sides & we're holding onto our leads mostly atm, as stressful as it seems to be we're pretty consistant. Hull game showed the weakness of our holding on style. We're the worst at getting anything when we go behind. Everton - Main issue for them is they've had four 0-0's. They've only lost to Man City in the league once taking the lead (Fulham game was a cup match) & their mentality to fight to win a game from behind is the best of all four by far. Liverpool - Best of the 4 at winning once in the lead clearly. Their main issue is going behind again, though thats better than us also. Tottenham - Similar to us once in the lead, they dont make the easiest work of it. They've gone a point infront due to their first win coming from behind yesterday.

Love how theres already multiple threads of people disagreeing after 4 pages

What happens when we inevitably hit the brick wall and nothing is working? you know like what happened when we finished 5th. We started dropping like a stone and then January came around.... Pardew changed the system, brought Ben Arfa in signed Cisse which allowed us to push on from the stagnation we found ourselves in and allowed us to finish 5th. There's always a place for players like Ben Arfa, sure its working right now but being solid and hard working will not work every week its a limited way of playing for a 38 game season and you need more in your arsenal to be successful. The thing is, we've been playing better attacking football as a side without him. We're not battling it out, our football in the middle has improved & the players movement is better. With Ben Arfa it often messes with the players sense of responsibility it seems, they dont work as hard & he feels to much pressure to unleash a special moment instead of playing it simply. It doesnt flow the same way & sometimes he holds it for to long. If hes not at his best, we have no other options.
