Theyre not intended to be suited towards 4-4-2 in an attacking sense when we play the best sides. 4-4-2 is the reason we got results for most of the season playing dodgy attacking football. We're very hard to score against & our strikers are class. Its been that simple.

Wigans goals came from wide areas bar the 4th, specifically because we played 4-3-3 & they exploited it. Quality of opposition & midfield strength obviously comes into it. The best sides arent going to be easily outplayed by us & our defence is more vunerable if that isnt happening with 4-3-3.

4-3-3 worked wonders defensively against Wigan, what was i thinking.

Pardew goes 4-4-2 because its harder to score against. He did it against Man Utd & Chelsea sucessfully, so its no suprise he tried the same against City & Everton. He relies on nullifying their attacks and using our quality down the other end, he has to do that due to the quality of our defence in comparison to that of the best sides. Its worked very well for us, doubt it has much to do with Demba.

You have to realise we signed him last season. Fair point. Still we may not have signed him this season, but hes been our most important signing in regards to achieving this season. Something like that.

Player of the Season : Colo Most Disappointing Player : Jonas for me. Hes been much better than others yeah, but hes also got far more ability than he shows. Best Result : Chelsea game was huge. Well his entire outlook has been to protect our weaker defence & let the strikers do their magic, he/Carver basically said exactly that just a few days ago in the interview. Finding that balance is whats given us our season. The Chelsea/Man Utd games show why he goes 4-4-2. If we're very hard to score against regardless of possession, we can win the hardest games. City needed a Toure 20 yarder, Everton a big deflection to set them off (which are the key moments). Better quality defence, you can be sure he'd be more positive tactically. Next season should be exciting.

As much as theyre less rated, you cant give Simpson/Williamson less than 7 man. Theyve just helped make history for our defence
