When you consider the sides we're getting these dodgy calls against. Chelsea, City, Arsenal. Even everton at home. Its no coincidence is it. Theyre clearly biased by the higher clubs status.

The only thing Hughton can be questioned on today is playing a high defensive line against someone like Walcott. The rest was fine. Individual errors cost us goals & not scoring ourselves. Krul, Guthrie, Ranger etc

Just one of those games. Only thing to take from it is probably not to play a high defensive line v the likes of walcott.

You taking my post to be arguing that players shouldnt be criticised is stranger really. I said it doesnt mean it can be improved upon, obviously some still think it can be. I dont much see solid reasoning behind that.

People complain about the lack of goals in our team, then moan that one of the few that will get on the end of chances doesnt do enough else. Some of you really need to get your heads around the idea, that perhaps we as a side dont have much better? Just because it wont work everytime, doesnt mean it can be improved upon. It means you want it to be & nothing more.

Everything hes said was right and fine. No hes not gonna lay into the squad as Robson did, because Robson could demand a higher level from his side as he knew their potential was probably much greater than they showed on that specific day. Hughton has a side who have just been promoted & he is trying to keep the positivity & confidence levels up. We've been here before, this is basic stuff tbh. The same crap was brought up last season, before we ran away with the title.

There havent been many times when ppl have been able to hammer Hughton for finally doing something that had been obvious to most for a while, which has then gone really well and proved he was being slow. Instead he normally does finally what most want, it doesnt go to plan. Then everyone goes ohh & goes off to find other issues they know better on instead.

We need to have more upfront ofc. But thank fuck we've just managed that. Atleast should get a high from coming back, hopefully will have a beneficial effect for the next game. We have to attack more and cut out the defensive errors !

Interesting aswell that all 5 of the goals Wigan have scored in open play this season have come in the last 10 mins of games. In the prem theyve only scored 4. One was deflected in, another a freekick. Rodallega has the other two, needa keep him quiet

Probably woulda beaten city to if the pen decisions had been given correctly. We've played pretty well so far. Need to start putting the ball in the net again, hopefully loven will be up top with Carroll.

You're actually trying to talk to someone about their expectation levels & you're moaning about us not creating many chances against a stoke side who had the 5th most clean sheets in premier league last season while we stand as a side who have just been promoted. Ofcourse thats irrelevant because theyre not Inter Milan, brilliant. Then bringing up nonsense about how we'd have done in the mid 90's in another post completely bizarre illogical waffling. Man city, Stoke & Everton actually have three very good defences believe it or not. Us not creating loads in our position really shouldnt be that suprising. We created more than enough against Blackpool & Wolves and should have won both games. Its more suprising that we were the first side to score a decent goal against Man city in the prem all season, with them having just played Chelsea. Stop the overly negative whining.

Hes been absolutely fine, i see little difference to the player he was last season. At times hes hesitant to get a cross in first time, thats about it.

Sticking my neck on the line here and making a judgement i might be wrong but dont think he is good enough for this division ,he has had a few games now and failed to impress me even against Villa when they were murdered i still thought he was our poorest player in that performance . He went through about 3 times against Villa, would have been clean through on the keeper if the balls to him were better. Against Wolves he rounded the keeper & pulled it back, only for it to barely miss both Carroll & Nolan. Blackpool he set up the freekick williamson hit the post on using his pace. Against Everton it was him who took the ball and ran across the defence, gave the ball to Ben arfa & went round the other side to pull a defender away from him. Ben Arfa scored from that. Yesterday Stoke defended very well and he got some decent crosses in, there just wasnt much upfront. Hes been involved in good chances for us in near every game, we just havent necessarily scored from them. Our wingers are doing fine.

We have improved massively defensively under Hughton. We have still conceded less shots on target than any other team in the premiership. We have conceded the 2nd least number of corners, only Chelsea with less. We are limiting the oppositions to very few chances in general, stoke had a solid 15 min spell. Im sure he'll look at it and see the issues. Overall im quite impressed with how our team has been playing.
