  1. Unfortunate first goal to give away, bburn well set up to deal with our set pieces etc. Just have big lads in their side to combat ours. Sat much deeper & made it harder for us than other sides that try to play. Still deserved atleast a draw. Just the way it goes, we'll get some results like this. We played OK, could do better. Still feel positive about our team.
  2. It's not rubbish - I'm just trying to keep my feet on the ground. Just because we've won three on the bounce doesn't mean we're now the best team in the world - the way people on this forum instantly swipe at you the second you dare even think about a bit of criticism would suggest some think we are. Poor players don't become good players in the space of 2 weeks - I can't help but be hesitant. I don't think people disagreeing with your proposed changes means they think we're the best team in the world - that's a pretty big leap, like! Don't know where you got that from. Has it crossed your mind that your assumption about poor players becoming good players might be based on faulty initial assumptions? Even as a possibility, I mean? Personally I've never believed in the concept of over-achieving - you're either able of performing to a certain level, or you're not. These players are clearly capable of playing very well in the system we're employing over a sustained period of time (270 minutes and counting) - there's nothing deceptive or misleading about it. They may mistakes in the future, I'm sure they will in fact, but to then say they were playing above themselves seems irrational IMO.
  3. Bigger teams? Not sure how the Arsenal game will show much. If anything we've done much better against the decent sides, we need to keep that form for the games we're expected to win.
  4. Dealt with Elmo very easily a couple times, whos been one of their best players this season.
  5. On his day hes really brilliant, the abilities been there the whole time. Needs to find that consistancy & sense of drive he had yesterday always because it took him to another level.
  6. Was suprised how well they both did with the ball at their feet, especially Carroll. Went past several today, wouldve been through 3 times. Carrolls really starting to shine & Sholas got that confidence hes always needed due to last season. Barton/Simpson whipping in class balls is helping to, with Guti also now looking very good going fowards. Its all good stuff. Loads of potential.
  7. Keeps impressing me. Always tries new things & is learning. Two upfront when many doubted he'd do it, two wins. Has shown why he keeps faith in Nolan, Carroll is a young player who actually seems to be constantly improving under Hughton. Has made two class signings in Tiote & Ben Arfa. Just so many positives coming from his reign so far. Promotion, even winning a cup pre season. Thrashing the side that sent us down, beating Chelsea in the cup & Everton away for the first time in how many years. Now our best thrashing of Sunderland in near 50 odd years. Amazing.

  9. Even Barton having a bit of a free role to come inside every now and again has been working quite well
  10. Barton & Guti flying for the last few games. Nolan showing why Hughton is a genius for knowing he should be playing this whole time. What a match we have here so far !
  11. Yeah because clearly its the tactics which stop us from outplaying everyone in the league & Ryan Taylor would have changed our season
