  1. Wish theyd change the group on screen before getting out the next ball, keep thinkin theyre drawin a 4th team
  2. We want group D to be rubbish to, so we can play someone easy if we win the group. We'll clearly come 2nd somehow and get Germany tbh
  3. Had a hell of a strike on him, loved the guy. Was class when we had expert freekick takers, him/solano/shearer all dangerous. Much more exciting. Just give him a trial see what standards he's at.

When you add together his good performances & the games where he's played about average but had instances like that you'll find the reason most think hes done better than you do. He's had a lot of moments of showing a good amount of potential & i expect if he played more he'd improve further. There ya go

I dont think you realise how important it is that one of us is right

Dont think Nolans at his best when upfront, pretty sure he's scored all his goals in the space behind. Obviously im not counting him as a strikeras most dont. He's shown a touch of class more consistantly than anyone in our side bar perhaps Enrique.

You go off in all directions then you question me about it. You said he did badly against Cardiff, i disagreed. You're now saying he was useful & wondering why theres any confusion. What you've just agreed with is what you just spent the last 4 pages or so arguing with me over ya nutcase. Thats the only reason the we kept discussing it. When you're going out of your way to disagree with why a players done well, it comes off as you not thinking a players done well ?

and referring only to strikers who have played regularly (3 of them) Referring to the fact that hes done well consistantly and id give him credit for that over players who havent proven they can yet. You two

So you'd have Ranger in the team against Cardiff then, because he helped create a goal. You just dont think his performances deserves any credit either, at the same time ? Do i really have to go into why Ranger has been useful for us when upfront, as a side thats played longball football. It should be massively obvious.

You aren't the only one (clearly) but the hype over these two is ridiculous. The only player whos started catching up with the amount Carroll & Ranger have played is Harewood & you're having a laugh if you think hes been consistantly better than both. Neither Ameobi or Loven have played enough to compare.

So do you give Nolan credit for playing a part in us scoring goals this season? If you say you do, purely because he's scoring them thats very shortsighted. We went through the whole butt situation a few pages ago, not sure why youd go down that route again

Being influential in us scoring is quite a big plus point thats why i brought it up. I didnt say he had a magnificient game, but you cannot then ignore contributions that lead to a goal. Unless you think Nolans having a bad season? Anyway, everyone was rubbish v Cardiff as i say. He's done well the majority of times he's played, if he hadnt we wouldnt have won so many matches with him starting the game or got winners after he came on. Theres a difference between challenging for a header & challenging 3 players for a header also.
  13. He's not someone we have to worry about anytime soon. Even in the prem, he's atleast a top 10 goalkeeper.

good grief man he challenged for a corner and i'm now supposed to take on board that he is soo good despite what i have seen. he's abig lad and out to impress, challenging like that is the least we should expect, shola used to, carroll does etc. You brought up the Cardiff match as being a bad one for him, i pointed out that without him we wouldnt have scored the goal we did & won the match. Seems a pretty obviously valid point. Obviously i think his performances as a whole were more impressive than you do also. You could use the least we could expect argument to disregard any positive attribute. Like Krul saving shots. A young player challenging 3 of the opposition and getting us a positive outcome, isnt really the least most would expect.

I wouldnt expect many players to be able to challenge two defenders & a goalkeeper and force them to make an error because of it. Strength in a target man is a very useful trait, he has a good amount of it & used it in that situation to keep an attacking move going when another would have let it fall away. The move came from a corner & i would give praise to all 3 players involved yes.

Where as Nolans contribution would be identical regardless of whos playing upfront huh, again lets ignore that. People would be less patient without Nolan scoring, thats just a normal reaction. That doesnt prove somehow players like Carroll/Ranger cannot possibly ever be useful at scoring and that we should/would give up on them. It means that we'd be less patient with their progress. It also means we'd have been even less patient with that of everyone else ofcourse, such as Harewood your favourite playing like garbage.

f***s sake if thats the case we have to applaud whoever put the ball in for ranger to challenge, and whoever got the ball to him and colo for getting the ball wide etc etc etc. when in fact what you are saying is that in the run up to the goal he played a part, not even a touch, therefore the goal was down to him. favouritism at it's most pathetic blindness. Not really, im talking about a situation that i wouldnt expect most players to create in the first place. The only other whos done that is Carroll again. You're comparing that to passing, which is something all our players are capable of. Nor did i say that meant that the goal was solely down to him anywhere, i said he had a hand in the goal? And you're having a go at blindness Ive said several times he creates chances, explain how that isnt a situation of him creating a chance.

He challenged two defenders and the keeper for the ball & nearly won. Thats why the keeper cleared it poorly to Colo. If he doesnt do that, we dont score. I dont personally ignore those kind of contributions as they do make a difference. Again the results do back it up, as i said he's done well most of the times he's played. Not every single game, in certain games the entire side was rubbish. Doesnt make sense to single Ranger out in that sense. If you're comparing consistantly solid performances, he's only 2nd behind Carroll. The only thing he has missed is a goal & getting time upfront.
  19. Sorry, forgot about his terrific leadership. The winning answers is: His movementt His movement created chances for others anyway. We've no idea how the games would have gone without him, probably not very well.
