Those are some direct assists sure. He creates chances
  2. Ok only goals and assists
  3. Because the only way any player effects any game atall is through goals, solid argument

    Hes already done it
  5. Not when we really needed them. Apart from that whole avoiding relegation under Keegan period. But we'll ignore that.

I think creating chances is useful. And him having getting more chances despite being given less time is a good sign yes. Well followed

Apart from that we tend to win with him in the side & that he creates chances yeah. What use could that be. Harewoods likely already had more time upfront in a partnership than Ranger has all season. Thats how much of a chance hes had & hes still managed to get into more positions to score than harewood.

Theyre not on a par. Harewood has had 1 good game in comparison to the rest having put in consistantly solid performances.
  9. Luque wins, but he probably could have been more useful than he was given the chance to be. Boumsong, was a waste for what we got.

Ranger had a hand in our goal against Cardiff. Who do you think did well against Cardiff & QPR ? Because the rest of our side were class those games. The results back up his performances, it should be obvious why you cant use Butt in the same argument. Even when ignoring that his performances have been gash. Different positions, different levels of influence over the game. Butt can be crap and still not effect much. If Ranger was crap we often wouldnt have scored when he played, as we mainly kicked it long.

He has done well most of the times he's played. The results of the games he's started/come on back that up, he's very good at keeping the ball and laying off possession & creating movement around him. We've had very good results with him in the side, upfront alone & with Carroll. He's had far less game time recently & so has looked more anonymous. If he was getting full games like the others & not 20 mins each week at the end of the games, he'd likely still be impressing. Its been the same case with lovenkrands really.
  12. Use whatever stats you want, the guy has been absolute garbage up until the last game. He did well in the last game & i would give him another start to continue to prove himself. But to already start heading towards claims of him now being one of our best strikers on the basis of two decent headers in a game where even lovenkrands managed to get one is laughable to say the least. In reality you backed him from the start & now you have the slightest bit of evidence backing up your initial opinion you're hammering it home as usual, regardless of how weak it is. He's been crap.
  13. We'll see. We're hardly stopping the opposition get chances currently, they just cant put them in this season. He has to be a lot stronger, smarter & faster than he was last season to even do OK. Hopefully this season will help him.

Carroll is a better finisher than Ameobi

No he doesn't. Yes, he does. Better in the air, better with his feet, more fight for the cause with his defensive responsibilities and a better finisher. And I don't even rate Carroll very highly. Agree. I think a lot of people are gonna get let down by Ameobi when he comes back now, such expectancy. He had one well taken goal on the back of scoring a decent but not the hardest hattrick. I wouldnt expect him to come out instantly firing again. Hopefully he will, but people are expecting a lot now for a player thats never done well on the back of that.

Theres no magic age he'll become ready, he'll improve with experience and playing games. He's in a much better position to get that now, than in the premiership where it'll be twice as hard. Now other players are stepping up he'll go down in the pecking order, as lovenkrands did based on very little. All of these players given full games would likely do well in the championship. Id rather Ranger was improving than Harewood.
  17. Bet you didnt used to say that about Ameobi when he walked around upfront for the majority of the games. Hes put away two decent headers, i wouldnt get carried away. He did well yesterday, it doesnt yet negate all the shite performances hes put in.

Clearly a good player. He's put away far harder chances than that, so you cant really judge his ability on it. Its a confidence issue.

Been very good past few games, still our main attacking outlet. Had a hand in both the first two goals, more directly the 2nd obviously.
