Dont think Nolan being upfront is a great idea really. Carroll can easily be isolated and then it all breaks down with long balls. Unless Jonas goes on an amazing run single handedly again to open it up a bit more. We'll see. Outside of that its a good side & i expect Carroll to keep scoring.

Because he'd be playing in the prem & champs league against the best players. Hes been a class above this season definately & last season deserved far more credit, picked up his form brilliantly as the season went on. But he still has to prove himself to be proper quality in the prem. Consistantly, in the same manner he has this season. He's made a few small errors this season that could have & have sometimes resulted in the opposition scoring. He does that in the prem he'll get punished more often & his flaws will start to stand out as much as his strengths. Right now its very one sided because of the standard of the league. But yeah, with the confidence he has now & in a side playing better football...he may just be a class above in the prem to for that position.

Thing with Rooney is he's more of a playmaker/striker, when we really need an out and out striker to go to that next level. Rooney will always drop deep & become easier to defend against for the better teams. Just because we have to rely more on our midfielders breaking into the box & thats going to leave space behind them and knacker them more quickly. If we had a shearer next to Rooney we'd be an incredibly good side. But no one else comes close, so its massively on our midfield & they dont tend to make the grade when it matters tbh.

I like the idea, not sure how realistic a prospect it is but its something id be behind. The only issue as a few others have mentioned is i dont see Ashley selling anytime this season with the chance of promotion atall now. I think hes made his choice. Also the fact that you're basically on a deadline to raise this massive amount of money, before anyone else comes in to buy the club. Doesnt give you the biggest amount of time really, i dont see Ashley sticking around after the end of this season regardless of the outcome.
