Wonder how redheugh knows what days different stories are going to be broken working for a legal firm
-
I suppose i am looking at it with the benefit of hindsight. I reckon its quite clear now, that if he had said something theres no way in hell Ashley would have ended up firing him & if he had he would have ended up offering his job back pretty quickly because of the fans reaction. Keegan wasnt to know that though i suppose so went for the money. Id have prefered if he'd fought it out instead, but its understandable.
-
Why couldnt Keegan communicate his issues with the fans then, i dont see what he had to lose if he was prepared to leave the club anyway.
-
The one negative thing i will say is that i think he could have handled it differently in the end instead of giving up and leaving. He could have communicated his position easily with the fans if he wanted to & let them know how hard Ashley was making it. He could have done whatever he wanted and not feared repercussions atall if he was prepared to leave the job. Why not push it as far as he could ? That way the fans would have protested just the same to let keegan get more control & Ashley would have seen popular opinion of how flawed his system was...the same opinion which made him desperately try to get Keegan back after he walked in the end. Then Keegan would have had just what he wanted...an owner more likely to back him & more control over it all. If he didnt get that...once again just communicate it to the fans. He was in control of how that situation went down, not Ashley. He chose to walk & say nothing.

Based on nothing more than blind optimism. Not at all, I'm saying that I agree our squad is too small. But it hasn't got worse in terms of its ability to win football matches. We have krul to thank for barely getting a draw against a side we beat twice last season. Ofcourse we're worse.
-
That doesnt determine that the youngsters would be some of the better players in the division though does it, which is what we need to expect promotion. There will be a massive drop in the ability of our side if we lose some of our better players to injury and can only bring in reserves in certain areas. With Guthrie/Barton out alone i think we become about 50% worse as a side let alone losing players in other areas like Jonas & Enrique. The only reason its easy to be so optimistic about the kids is because we havent seen them tested at this level.

Hmmm. Is he not stretching down on the one captioned "Lean Times". Hilarious pun on our financial meltdown might I add. Thats nolan. Strange that hes not pictured
-
good news, sounds like hed be up for it. Get him in asap.
-
This last time under him we didnt lose to a single side that finished outside the top 7 & even then the side that finished 7th blackburn only won 1-0 with a very late injury time goal. So with basically the same team that just got us relegated, we were only outplayed by top 6 sides under keegan. Regardless of money, hes a class manager.
-
Id still take him over shearer. He'd promote us with ease, if he wants to do one after a season again he can feel free.
-
Basically stating that moat wouldnt be able to buy any players before the deadline regardless
-
extended deadline.......cock
-
walcott hasnt done anything to deserve selection, like the last time. i wouldnt even say he's improved since arsenal bought him. Ofcourse he's improved, he's done loads to justify selection in comparison to last time. Hes been injured recently so hes been out of the news for a while thats all.

A players ability doesnt stay static. Its worse opposition yeah but theyre also just playing better themselves. A lot of the pressure is gone & confidence comes in, you see more of what theyre capable of.
-
You can watch the football league show on bbciplayer if you want to see the goals
-
I think the players themselves are just playing better than last season also, i wouldnt put it all down to worse opposition. R taylor is a good example of that, last season we were lucky when his freekicks didnt leave the stadium. Hes had two saved so far, ones grazed the bar, put in a great cross for Ameobi & now scored from 20 yards. The pressure is largely whats done us last season from everything that happened.
-
Allardyce making classy signings as usual then
-
I think the best hope for our long term future is winning games. Which means we should go out of our way to keep Barton.
-
Gallas's goal

Any combination of Smith/barton/guthrie will outplay nearly every side in this league Smiths ability is underestimated as i were saying before the game Great result, happy days
