Think it would have been different if hed bought another side yes In that scenario he wouldnt have let go* a very popular manager So the fans wouldnt all turn against him And supposedly he'd have had more money to invest in the side The team he bought would have had less injuries & a bigger squad so they could compete They would have had one manager, all the way through the season His ideas for investing in young talent would have been positive etc etc Yes he made a giant cock up by choosing us. He couldnt handle it. The problem wasnt his initial ideas but how he reacted to the situations that came about. The guy has disasterous decision making skills it seems.

If Berbatovs worth 30mill you gotta be talking close to 50 for Als ability nowadays.

Dont get what people are so incredibly wound up about. Theyre expecting magic & then annoyed that it doesnt happen. As i said he's been our top scorer the last two seasons, joint with martins on this last one. We paid for what we got, a finisher. We provided him with little to finish & then you complain that because hes getting paid so much he should be playing like Drogba or Torres. It doesnt make much sense. If your annoyance is that paying that much money to a player should dictate that they can do more than just finish chances, then thats our fault for wasting the money not owens. Hes been a crap captain & a cock for not coming out and saying anything since the relegation. Thats about it. There are far more people worthy of blame for our situation than Owen.

I'm sure he will but then I'm also sure an average striker would do well at Man U surrounded by all those good players. Depends what your expectations are. They normally go up when you're playing for Man U. Doing well for them would suggest a player who is significantly contributing to them being a better side, not just getting some tap ins.

So ridiculously bored of this entire situation.

Feel pretty similar. Dont care whether he becomes top scorer, but the bias against his on here is laughable. His main strength being his movement in the box, surround him by players who cant pass & he doesnt score much. Who wouldve thought it. Its his status & wage that determines he gets all the criticism. Reality is though that the status he had didnt mean we should have expected him to be able to save us singlehandedly. His injurys again, crap for us. But i dont begrudge him for wanting to represent his national side & as for the rest..i dont really consider us to be the best club to be at in terms of injurys anyway. Half of it could be down just as much to our incompetence as him. Reckon he'll do very well at a side like Man u.

Who would have thought michael owen could still be rated as a good player beyond me like

serious wow Usa are stepping up

If they had a better footing it could be class. Imagine the slide tackles. Or if they found a way to slide with the ball at their feet, then shoot as their sliding past the goal. Should be proper sized goals tho.

The points about needing a midfielder & him having to drop deep are sound & true. And its a solid point that we're probably the worst possible club any injury prone player could ever be at with our record. No doubt we've made it far worse rather than better. But the whole thing smacks of some serious serious desperation, i dont see that attracting anyone. He must be embarassed by this, talk about taking bad advice.

Anyone can play this game. Unprovable and therefore means f*** all. Jayson > Gemmil

Martins > Adebayor Under the right management
-
Penalty england Nice penalty from lampard 4-0
-
Not relevant that we didnt qualify though is it What reason is there to believe right now that they're better
-
3-0 rooney great reflexes there
-
Bronze and silver and the last two major tournaments. 16 points after 6 games in their current qualifying group Didnt look anything special atall during euro 2008 even coming 2nd. Lost to the croatia side we beat easily this time round. In qualifying - drew with finland, waddled past wales. Nothing amazing, we're better.
-
Think we're currently better than Germany, France & Portugal. Close to italy And still dont compare to spain, holland, Brazil etc
-
2-0 then Heskey
-
1-0 England gareth barry, header
-
this is just embarassing

great save

It's just the usual business haggling surely. I just hope we don't have to wait for the due diligence to be done before Shearer is appointed. If the new lot want what's best for the club, they surely must know if they want to gain anything from their investment, then taking over as quick as possible, rebuilding the team, appointing a manager, etc. is crucial. They'll stand much more chance of getting that £10m back in the Premiership the following season than they would messing around for weeks trying to get the price (which has already been slashed) down further from what seems a fair price for the club and it being too late to bring in players, etc. for the new season. It just shows up more of Ashleys pathetic negotiating skills. They say they want Shearer 110% then get surprised when he asks for a multi million pound deal. Ashley says he's desperate to sell the club, so someone offers 90 mill instead of 100, the consortium is made up of businessmen (so we're told) and that's what business people do. If they've asked for due diligence they can haggle over the price while they do the due diligence. It'll probably go for 95million. If I tell everyone I'm desperate to sell my house for 100k you'd come in and say ok I'll offer you 90k, it's the same principle. Probably thought hed get so much interest theyd be outbidding eachother endlessly. Shame the twat always gets it wrong, he'll still try to play hard ball ofcourse and draw all this out.

yer, but everyone needs a scapegoat & michael owen is the most enjoyable one to choose cause he has the highest status basically There isnt much reasoning going on beyond that.
-
Hes pretty much desperate to hop off now then. Great.

There wasnt any reason to believe Colo would develop into a class central defender for us lol He was liked more at the start, simply because people were desperate to believe that we hadnt waste 10 mill again & he had a good rep in spain. Boumsong however had just gone to rangers on a free not long before he joined us - so everyone was probably far more ready to doubt his ability in the prem, rather than an Argentine international who done well in la liga. Realistically though, the general extent of the praise he got was "oh he looks so calm on the ball". Because the guy barely ever headed it, barely ever tackled, barely ever did anything to show himself to be a good defender for us & never turned out to be one. He was to slow, to weak & had bad positioning. If we'd have had the coaches to turn colo into a pretty class premiership defender, they'd have made Steven taylor into the new vidic much earlier anyway.
