  1. Don't think anybody would have a problem with signing him for 6 months.

    The Two Escobars

Just watched this on Anytime, it's absolutely brilliant. One of the most powerful documentaries/films I've seen and some of the footage is fabulous (and also tragic). I'd recommend it to anybody
  3. Spain have ridiculous talent depth.
  4. He would be amazing in the Premier League man, he's like Fabregas X 10. I would rather Cesc tbh Nernar.
  5. Think we could get him if we wanted, but whilst he can show a spark of skill and ability at time to time, he can be just as awful. He's Oba Martins MkII, with a bit more versatility positionally. I've watched him Serie A for a couple of years and developed an irrational hatred for his style of play, he's talented but will never be consistent enough to be a really good player. His workrate and intelligence is poor aswell - a luxury player that doesn't have enough about him to be a luxury player, essentially. [/hopefully avoided annoying Baba with African footballing stereotypes]
  6. Aye, but it's not that unrealistic. I didn't say "Hey, why don't we sign Arshavin?" Yes the fees and wages touted are unrealistic, but in terms of the kind of player that he is and his situation at Spurs, I wouldn't say we were that much of an unrealistic move for him. We just don't know until we open negotiations - there's no harm in seeing what he's after and then telling him to f*** off. Fair enough.
  7. Obinna is also realistic, well not in January, but when West Ham go down. He's basically being offered by Inter to anybody willing to take him and is not on big wages at all. Don't rate him though. Desperately infuriating player to watch.
  8. It's a bit stupid to suggest things in the Realistic Transfer Thread only to then completely ignore how realistic it is in terms of contract/wages/fee etc. Kind of defeats the point really. Well, he's realistic I suppose.
  9. Well you kind of are. You rate Keane, I don't.
  10. Is anyone actually suggesting this? Well people are suggesting we should sign him permanently, so by deduction, yes they are. As far as I can see, people are saying we should sign him because of his playing ability. Nobody even mentions wages/fees. If they want too much money or he wants high wages/long contract, then no it probably won't happen. Doesn't mean I don't want him here. What we gonna do, send them some stray change and pay him in Guinness? Of course the fee/wage would be ludicrous man, this is Spurs.

  12. Whey aye then, lets just spend more money than we've got on Keane, give him the long term deal on big money he will demand and go round the same cycle over again. Be great watching another 30+ player half-heartedly play out their twilight years while picking up easy money, we've had nowhere near enough of them scenarios before Ludicrous that people think it's sensible signing Keane permanently, or at all realistic.
  13. He'd score goals for us and be good in the short term. But it's hardly bulidng for the future is it, having a 31 year old on a contract till he's atleast 34 and on big wages (which he will be). Ashley wouldn't even consider it permanently tbh, and rightly so. It's exactly the kind of signing that put is in a mess in the first place.
  14. That's like saying you wouldn't scoff at signing Hasselbaink on 60k a week. Keane is not the player he was.
  15. The difference is Ben Arfa has the potential to still get better and appreciate as an asset if we signed him permanently. Keane wouldn't.
  16. Keane is just typical of the signings we made in the past. He'd be a good short term solution but we really shouldn't be spending big on fees or wages with him - let some other mugs do that.
  17. Keane's barely scored in ages. I'd take him on loan but I'd be pretty upset if we spent money on him.
  18. When did I ever say I 'hated Scottish football with a passion' ? I do remember slating Kris Boyd when you said he'd be a good signing for us, and I vaguely remember calling the Scottish national team an embarrassment to another poster after their scraped victory over Liechtenstein. Other than that, I can't really remember much else .
