I wonder how long Guthrie's got on his contract? He's supposed to be one of the lower paid pros so there might be a Steve Taylor situation developing (except Taylor is only low paid in his own head).
2 years to run.
I think Shola's problem is really just a lack of motivation. He's a bit shit yeah but I think he hasn't improved from 21 onwards because he's just had things too easy and hasn't been arsed to improve himself.
He is a 21 year old version mind, with time to develop
Aye granted. Needs to settle down somewhere like, I'm guessing playing for a new team in a different country isn't helping his game.
Playing in 5 different countries sporadically by the time you're 21 can't be good for development.
Is that him saying he doesn't mind us being knocked out, or am I reading it wrong? Don't get it.
I don't know whether he's says he doesn't mind us being knocked out or that he doesn't mind putting out a weakened team. Poorly worded.
He's a bit of a battering ram, but he's technically better than both Harewood and Shola hence why he's often played out wide comfortably for Ecuador.
I think there's a decent player in there anyway.
Aye, shame most of our other promising youngsters are foreign
Wouldn't bother me them being foreign like if Vuckic and Kadar became first teamers aswell, would save us a lot of money
Seriously for £1 million he's worth a punt. He was very highly rated a few year ago and is an established international for Ecuador, only 21 so there is time for him to imrpove.
He's rough around the egdes but he could definitely be an effective squad player at that price.
Yeah, it is. Still doubt the truth in it, but if Douglas has spoken to someone at the club (and maybe even Hughton) I'd be more tempted to believe it.
Yup I guess, I'll never trust these NE journo fully like.
I still really want to sign him, so I hope this agent talk of another club is just trying to pressure us into forcing a deal.
I think he'd push us up to a new level, but I agree it's looking less and less likely.
