I never wrote Carroll off as such, but I never rated him that highly. Times earlier last season he really frustrated me. Just shows what a bit of faith and games can do for a player though, he's a bloody monster now and seems to get visably better every week.

Tbh, his allround game is poor. He doesn't track back and often flutters in and out of games, I wouldn't call him a fighter. However he does have genuine ability on the ball and a cracking left peg, he'd have been a great squad player here.
