I dunno if you misunderstood me, I don't want him replaced completely - just knocked down the pecking order as such. I'd definitely have him as either 3rd or 4th striker. I just think we need a new #2 striker. I'd still like to see him get gametime at home, but we need somebody more imposing for many of the games. I was being ironic. Lovenkrands is an able squad player who may contribute something from the bench, but we should really be looking for a new striker.

I don't understand why the media are running with this as a 'new rule' that has the likes of Man City panicking. This change has been in place for about 2 years, I'm pretty sure the clubs are well aware and are prepared with which players need to be moved on. The story I read the other day was like, 'New rule stuns City into firesale' or some sensationalist rubbish like that.

Balotelli is class, potentially world class. Terrible attitude, although getting him out of Italy and away from weekly racist abuse should do him some good.

Fergie's tactics have often marginilised specialist players, that's why attacking midfielders like Anderson and Veron never hit it off at Man U while nearly every winger they've ever signed has been a success.

nobody questions the talent. it's the application and desire that have folk wondering. He hasn't even been that bad though. 12 goals and 5 assists in 24 starts last season. Not exactly horrific, plus he contributes more than just stats in terms of bringing other players into play. Definitely not been worth £30 million but he hasn't exactly been terrible. he got that number of starts more so due to his performances than injuries. if any club in the world pays 30mill they should get a player who is an automatic first choice. he isn't and wont be. Meh. I still love him as a player, he's become sound kind of clown figure in the English media like Forlan did. It irks me when that happens.

Free role behind the strikers and he'd tranform our team. Might mean when playing 4-5-1 we don't just skip the midfield out all together
