  1. Man that's a bloody bargain. He has a good world cup and Fener will be laughing.
  2. Anybody have the link for that shirt website somebody on here runs? EDIT: I've found the site, but can't find the World Cup ones? EDIT: Got it.
  3. I don't really see the need for Mascherano though. I assume Muntari is on his way out but there is still Motta, Cambiasso, Stankovic and Mariga as defensive minded midfielders. A more attacking CM would probably be a better option, Hamsik would be class.
  4. To think I thought we should sign him as recent as a month ago. Wishful thinking to say the least.
  5. I'm warming to the Benitiez prospect now, he really isn't a bad manager. He's just so uncharasmatic and conventional it's boring, although anybody was going look like that replacing Mourinho Kuyt Mascherano Silva
  6. They're playing on the opening day, why the fuck aren't they there already anyway.
  7. That would be a heartbreaker for him, missed Euro 2008 in his own country aswell.
  8. Man what a gut. That transfer is gonna be a disaster.
  9. Teams that are of the lower band (below the likes of Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Italy etc) seem to trasition between having good generations and bad generations of players. Romania and Bulgaria in the early 90s had very good teams, Poland in the 80s, Czech republic in the earlier part of this decade, Hungary in the 50s etc. I think that in the future these teams will get a wave of players coming through and will do well again. It's interesting to think how good a collective Yugoslavia team would be now, if you combined Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Slovenia and Macedonia together. The talent pool there would be good enough to win a World Cup, for example: -----------Handanovic--------------- Corluka--Vidic--Ivanovic--Kolorov --------------Stankovic-------------- Modric----Misimovic-----Vucinic--- --------------Dzeko------------------ And then a bench of: Pletikosa, Pranjic, Kranjcar, Simunic, Basa, Jovetic, Eduardo, Srna, Krasic, Vukcevic, Pandev, Salihovic, Kacar, Tosic, Olic, Petric, Zigic etc etc Probably better off they're seperate (politically, definitely I know) so that they all get to play international football.
  10. Oh aye Most GIFs made of something, ever. Surely.
  11. Only one of Materazzi and Zidane got their hands on the trophy that day. Zidane lost it at the biggest moment of his career, nothing mint about it, just stupidity.
  12. Yeah Chile's formation will transition from a 3-1-3-3 to a 3-3-1-3, depending on the position of the wide midfielders/wingbacks - who will bomb up and down all game. The way Bielsa sets it up is to have an 3 centre backs to cover 2 strikers, he always wants a spare man available - so if a team was to go 4-3-3 against them he'd almost be forced into changing to cover the extra forward. Fortunately for them I can't see Spain and certainly not Honduras/Switzerland going 4-3-3. It's certainly high risk though, and relies upon them keeping the ball in the opposition half.
  13. Not a chance against either. Brasil are too good defensively if at full strength. Only point of attack would be Lennon against the LB. Plus England can't defend setpieces where unusually for Brasil they are unbelievably strong. Mmmm, I think Brazil are beatable. They're solidity and organization is exemplary but I think if luck fell on our day we could beat them.
  14. Didn't know David Pizzaro has retired, anyone know why? cracking little player. Aye, he's been one of the most consistent midfielders in Europe over the last few seasons. Along with Vucinic last year he was probably Roma's best player. According to Wiki, so obviously, pinch of salt is necessary this is why he quit:
  15. Man I hope Spain meet Brazil early and Brazil dump them out. I'm sorry, but if we're to have ANY chance of winning this tournament we cannot meet Spain - they will pass us to pieces and we wont get a sniff. Brazil on the other hand, while better than us, I think we could beat them.
  16. Danny needs to be starting for Portugal. Deco is past it.
  17. Could be famous last words, but that is pretty much the worst fantasy league team I have ever seen. what players are bad in that team? Most of them wont play, a lot of them are in teams that are unlikely to go far, no matter how good the individual player is, and you've only got two absolute star player. who isn't going to play, the whole team are particularly starter's in their teams I dont think, Alves will start, Maicon will I dont think Butt will start, I imagine Mexico, Switzerland and Serbia wont go far. That's just the way I see it. Correct Maicon is first choice at RB for Brazil, Neuer is first choice goalkeeper atm since Adler's injury. Inler is a very good player tbf but you're right in your assessment of their chances. However you're free to make changes so It doesn't matter to much if they don't go far. After that the rest of his team is very good.
  18. http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/3885/uruguaysystem.jpg Replace Nacho with Lodeiro and that will probably be their starting XI. Although in qualifying they did play a more orthadox 4-4-2 at times. http://www.zonalmarking.net/2010/05/27/an-old-fashioned-3-5-2-for-uruguay/ There's some in depth analysis for how they've been playing in warm ups.
  19. Would have definitely taken him here. Hodgson will get the best out of him.
  20. Xavi? I'm guessing the other one is a Portuguese guy, but I don't really know their squad these days.
  21. Ahh okay, So nicknames. Right: Deco, Kaka, Juan, Duda, Pepe, Nani, Doni.
