    Sunderland

That was one of the worst games of football I've seen in years
  2. All joking aside, I really struggle to deal with the success of English clubs in Europe. The whole thing is an unrelenting reminder of the fact that we are run into the ground by the worst human being in the world, who actively exploits the collective success of these other clubs (through the TV revenue) by creaming off the top and putting nothing back in. Whether it's by doing it the right way like Spurs have done, or through financial doping via Man City, both of these examples of success are the result of the explosion of the Premier League and the opportunity that presents either to savvy operators like Levy or by actual nation states seeking international legitimacy. The way the Premier League is now is basically an open goal for any decent sized and supported club to run at and stick it in the net. Even fucking Leicester won the league through an ownership that has the best interests of the club at heart. It's jealousy on one part, but also just real frustration and depression at the way we are operated in this world of bountiful opportunity. The fact that Sissoko and Wijnaldum will be playing off against each other in the final is a footnote which kinda punctuates this entire point.
  3. It's depressing because in most people's recent memory Spurs couldn't even finish above us. The trajectory of both clubs is vile.
  4. Same. Euroschadenfreude are an awful team to follow. My soul can't take a Spurs winner
  5. Oof that feels like a game changing moment
  6. The way in which momentum seems to decide games these days is incredible. I'm growing weirdly nostalgic for the way sides used to be able to just shut down a tie. Now they just lose the plot and fold like a pack of cards.
  7. Aubameyang was my other shout, especially a couple of years ago, but not sure he'd start these days.
  8. Absolutely. Weโ€™re badly lacking creativity I think it's rare that this happens where a top European country loses one of their players from immigrant background and it's a genuine loss. Was he just not getting in the Dutch team at 22 or was it a personal decision to play elsewhere? I can probably only really think of Koulibaly who would similarly start for his country of birth but took the heritage option.
  9. Surely Ziyech would start for Holland if he hadn't opted to play for Morocco?
  10. Fair I was thinking you were a full blown Feyenoord fan for some reason.
  11. A Feyenoord fan supporting Ajax in Europe seems mighty good of you. How common would you say that is amongst other fans?
  12. It could have done, but laying claim to County Durham has caused far more delicious fewm than doing so with Northumberland would have.
  13. First leg of Atalanta vs Fiorentina was great, 2nd leg has started in the same way.
  14. If we're caught short for players I'd definitely be able to get a +1
  15. Not giving him a new deal when his current deal runs to 2021 is pretty much fair enough.
  16. They will re-adjust the team now to feed his ego so he can flat-track bully the last few weeks of the season and steal the Capocannoniere from 45 year old Quagliarella. Probably their worst season in a few years considering Atalanta did them in the Coppa and they've looked pretty guff in the CL.
  17. ajax must win the trophy, for the good of my soul
  18. He's a video game player like. I don't know somebody can score beautiful goals in such an efficient, cut throat manner.
  19. Want Watford to win for some reason and I genuinely have no idea why
