  1. The 'casual nature' in which he took the chance (if that's even true) is only a problem if it doesn't go in.
  2. Might sell me ticket now I know you're all taking your hoards of offspring.
  3. If that Serbian keeper can't start ahead of Vladimir Stojkovic for Serbia then colour me skeptical.
  4. Exactly. It's literally an impossible situation to pass judgement on as an outsider.
  5. Sky and the media have no consistency with Korean names. They always have Son's name back to front but then Ki Sung-yueng is always the right way round. Surely it's a case of having the names correct or westernizing them all like with Japanese names.
  6. He was already sold to Birmingham before Benitez arrived.
  7. Either it would result in carnage or it would result in the game being sanitised and all the tribalism removed. Whichever one is a fucking terrible result. Mixed support is rubbish and creates the bizarre atmospheres you see in rugby matches or in the NBA. Tribalism adds to the tension and gives the sport gravitas and drama that it wouldn't normally have. It's a brilliant thing and the reason the game is so marketable around the world.
  8. You'd support fans being unsegregated? So no away end? Would be a great way to kill off one of the things that makes football by far the most interesting sport.
  9. Definitely him the little shithoose
  10. https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/jack-colback-millwall-2004.1410875/ Guess that puts an end to the shit about him being an NUFC fan as a kid.
  11. I don't dislike Ritchie (although his form is frustrating me atm), and I wouldn't sell him in January, but I just don't really think he has the pace for the top flight long term. He's a winger who can't dribble with the ball and doesn't stretch teams with his pace off it, that's a major problem in this league in this day and age IMO. Even if he had the best crossing and shooting technique in the world (he doesn't, although he's not bad) it would still be a problem. There's a long line of one-paced midfield and wide players who have starred in the Championship over the years, racking up big numbers of goals and assists. I've said on here before that above average technical ability goes a long way in that league. Peter Wittingham having a 20 goal season springs to mind as a notable example.
  12. Atsu was playing second striker really, he was all over the place. It's clear just how importance pace, movement and dribbling ability are for forwards at this level when you compare Atsu and Ritchie's seasons (this and last). I can't believe how off the pace Ritchie looks. Thought he had enough workrate in his game to compensate but he's driving me crazy atm.
