  1. Disappointed for Lazio as they've played great football this season and ended up with nowt. But Inter will make a better fist of it in the CL. They've already nicked one of Lazio's best players.
  2. De Vrij playing against Inter for a place in the CL, when he's joining them after the game, is an odd scenario.
  3. De Gea's distribution is nowhere near as good as made out. In fact it's a major hindrance to Man United's game. He gives away possession all the time short and long, especially since Mourinho came in. Nowhere near as good as Schmeichel was in that aspect. He is possibly the greatest shot stopper I've ever seen however. Consistently saves goals some other keepers wouldn't get near to, always clears shots away from the box too.
  4. De Gea is a better shot stopper than Schmeichel. That's it.
  5. That's obviously not particularly true. The different trajectories of the two clubs since that time are entirely due to Ashley's ownership of NUFC - and by contrast, Levy's savvy but ambitious operating of Spurs. The managerial appointments are mere footnotes.
  6. Most clubs use dodgy accounting to sign more players. We're the only club that's doing it to artificially engineer PR excuses not to spend.

    This is also very true.

Ashley is probably looking at the job average managers have done last season keeping clubs up and think anybody could keep us in the league so long as he picks the right one. He'll be looking at £6 million fee, £4 million pa saved and a new manager who'll stop asking for serious funds.

The statement Ashley released the other day is the most ominous thing about all of this imo.

Got to be worried at this stage.

    Looking like he's offski
  12. And can do a job at right back. 7 full backs!
  13. Delph has played the vast majority of his career in centre midfield. He's played there for England and done okay. I think Young is there as a wing-back. He hasn't played a full season at central midfield since he was at Villa 3 years ago, and was never an England stalwart at that point. How does his form at left back justify selection in a completely different position?
  14. Exactly. I wouldn't necessarily have a problem with their selection if they were going as left-backs. However with Rose there, it seems they're in because they're 'versatile' players. The problem is Young hasn't been a decent winger for about 5 years and Delph hasn't had a run at CM since he was at Villa.
  15. Ten defenders and four midfielders. And 1 proper winger in Sterling. I guess he's playing 3-5-2/3-4-3 or whatever shit, but you're setting yourself up for a fall if it doesn't work. Surely considering the very different sides we're going to be playing then some variety would have been useful.
  16. Taking what is essentially 6 full-backs is absolutely ludicrous. Delph and Young playing elsewhere makes no sense since they're in the squad based on their form as left backs, and neither were anywhere near the last two tournaments for their play in other positions.
  17. Aye, going to be this Well that's simply not possible since there's no draw in a World Cup and never has been. We already know who our possible last 16 opponents are (Poland, Colombia, Japan or Senegal).
  18. Could have tried to persuade Leon Bailey I guess Sessegnon and Jadon Sancho. A bit young but they both played plenty of games last season.
  19. I don't think there's a lot of difference between us celebrating the title at Plymouth on the pitch and them celebrating reaching the play-off final. While we'd won something, there was actually less on the line considering the real target of promotion had already long been sealed. The play-offs are intense, and getting through a tight game in them to reach Wembley is a big release of emotion.
