Why do we play the diagonal ball from an awful angle rather than try and manufacture crossing positions (like the one we scored from)?

don't know about worst as he's not been involved enough. He has been very slow and out of position on a few occasions. The defence isn't the problem tonight though, our midfield can't create and they've been given so much space to move t about. They've hardly pressed us at all He's flew out of defence and been done 3 or 4 times. Some poor decisions and looks sluggish. Obviously it's no worry, just a bit strange from him.

The side is about as strong as the one that went to Maritimo. Absurd that we're going up against Man U at OT with it.

I don't think he was awful against Norwich whatsoever like. To say Jonas and Saylor have looked 'very poor' is an exaggeration too.

Quite surprising how many Liverpool fans don't rate him at all. After a strong 6 months there he's gone downhill. Think he's bulked up too much and it's effected his game. Watch the Blackburn (a) compilation on Youtube from his latter days here; world class performance and shows why we considered him to be the best left back in the league. The times I've seen him recently for them he looks slower, less athletic and more error prone. Can see him gone sooner rather than later unless he turns it around.

Don't think Perch has ever looked particularly comfortable at right back. His evolution into 'Perchinho' basically happened when injuries meant he started getting games at CB and CM.
