Man City to make £50m bid for Newcastle United supporters Premier League billionaires Manchester City have today launched an audacious bid for the entire fan base of recently relegated Newcastle United. The unexpected move has come as part of City’s plans to be the best supported club in the world, and the so-called ‘Best Supporters In The World ’ have provided a logical starting point. The move will see each of Newcastle United’s 50,000 ‘regulars’ offered £1,000 to change their allegiances to Manchester City. “Our competitive advantage is our financial position, and we will buy anything and everything we feel will help us improve this football club.” Said City boss Mark Hughes. “Securing the Newcastle United fans offers us a great opportunity to improve our position as the best supported club in the league,” “They have just the sort of experience we’re looking for, in that they’ve enjoyed fleeting periods of great expectation followed almost immediately by abject failure, which will be useful to us in the next two years.” Hughes continued, “We’ll happily pay top dollar for supporters who will blindly follow their team and defend them as the greatest in the world in the face of over-whelming evidence to the contrary.” “And in that respect, the Geordies really are second to none.” The Newcastle fans, who will not be subjected to a medical, are expected to have a ‘fully clothed at all times’ clause inserted into their Man City contracts. A Newcastle spokesperson said that although the move has come at a bad time for them, the entire fee will be used to rebuild the supporter base into a slimmer, better looking unit which they hope will be “the envy of the Championship”.

Print out some flyers saying 'Ashley Out', I reckon that would help.

No-one should be having a kid less than a year after having dreadlocks. Unless black.

By the sounds of it he should've been sent off twice in pre-season. Not exactly a perfect start to life in the Championship.

Xisco: "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" only in Spanish and reallllly meek. NO PUEDE PASO!!!!

really? looking purely at the highs in my lifetime i get this... keegan era - probably unbeatable in every way. breathtaking if you lived through it at a decent age. dalglish era - 2nd place finish, champions league run, beating barca 3-2, fa cup final. gullit era - fa cup final. robson era - second only to keegan in terms of success and great memories. then it gets a bit s*** bar the odd moment every now and again. I'm shocked that you've listed Gullit and Dalglish as highs. The FA cups were just prime examples of almost-highs followed by earth shattering lows. I am no longer interest in 'the ride', 15 years of it must have shortened by lifespan. He hasn't listed them as highs, but reaching the FA Cup final is amazing for any club.

We always have mint away strips so its class.
-
Yeah, just for stuff like Keegan coming back and Shearer being appointed etc.

Just seen the goal on SSN, Shola didn't even win the header it just went over him.
-
Most teams score 7 against Darlington in a pre-season friendly played on a Saturday. Just surprising they scored a couple in reply. Only if Sholagol plays for them. Stop trying to boast about your pathetic pre-season, we've ripped it up and yous know it. We're going to get so many points next year they'll carry some of them over. edit: and I notice you couldn't reply to the second part of my post Real Madrid have got like another 6 weeks before they start their league program, Newcastle start in less than 3 weeks, so I'm not surprised you're more advanced than Real tbh. I think he might have been joking, still doesn't take much to wind a Spuds fan up, as usual.

I we win this we'll storm the Championship.

No-one is saying everyone should take a paycut because its unrealistic. There difference though is that Beye apparently loves the club, what's the point in saying this when he blatantly doesn't? Like I posted about a week ago, he said the exact same things a couple of weeks before he came to us. He's a good player but no different from Butt, Smith etc. attitude wise. The only player I have faith in at the moment is Taylor and I reckon he'd be tempted by a top half PL club.

Butt to follow Owen to Man U. Heard it from my mate who is also ginger.

That baby is the weirdest thing ever.
